Charming Henry: BEST. PICS. EVER.

This should be everyone's reaction after meeting Henry Cavill.

UPDATE: @AloraFalconer (IG) is the lucky girl who got these great photos with Henry a few weeks ago in the Detroit area. Thank you for reaching out! - below are the better quality pics Alora shared on Instagram.

"My dream came true. I met Henry Cavill!!! #Superman"

Her friend @NickRepp (IG) also got a pic with Henry that day. Nice!

Alora shared her story with us, about how she met Henry:

I was driving about ten minutes away from downtown when I saw my cousin posted a picture of him and her in her store (I checked my phone at a stop light..don't text and drive!) ;) I thought I would head down there to see if he was still there, he has visited downtown a few times since he's been here. He wasn't at the store but his car was parked right in front, sindi said he was going to get something to eat. I decided to stick around the store for a while and see if he was coming back. I handed out samples for the store, I wanted to do something productive while I waited haha. A little while later, nick says to me "oh my god, it's him!" I turned around and just froze. Another friend who was with us asked him if he would take a picture. In that beautiful British accent he said, "oh yes, of course!" I walked to him, shook his hand, told him I was his biggest fan. He thought that was amusing. I don't know what came over me, I said "take a picture of me like this because I've finally met him!!!" And that's when I threw my hands up in the air. Everyone thought I was crazy but it was so worth it!! :)

Thanks to Alora and Nick, and as always thanks to Henry for being so awesome with his fans. Have a great weekend everyone!

Throwback Thursday: Fan Shares His Photo With Henry & Gina

Olaf_at_Tokyo_Disneyland (IG) just shared his pic with Henry and Gina Carano. He met them when they visited Japan last spring, as Henry started the promotion for Man of Steel. Thanks for sharing!

Batman v Superman: Smith Says It Kicks Off "Massive" Justice League Storyline

Image: @jock4twenty

It's not news some of you Man of Steel fans want to hear, but very exciting nonetheless. As you know Kevin Smith has been dropping hints about the Man of Steel sequel (he was the first one to tell us about the batsuit). Now in his latest podcast, he talked about a Justice League storyline that stretches beyond Batman v Superman and the initial JL:

“They’re obviously beginning something, and there’s a stretch of these flicks. And so this is the beginning of the Justice League, as we all suspected as they were announcing that cast. We were like, ‘This is the beginning of a Justice League movie.’ From what I understand now, it’s no longer like, ‘This is Superman 2.’ They’re not doing these things. They’re doing like, ‘Here’s Man of Steel. Here’s Batman/Superman: Dawn of Justice.’ The next one is not like a sequel to one of the characters. They’re just going to keep building their universe for about five or six movies. But all of them, it’s supposed to tell one massive story, which is all Justice League oriented."

Screenrant has more on what that could mean for Man of Steel. The article is a must read.

We also have an update from Detroit via MLive's Eric Lacy. He talked to an official who shared some location details involving Batman v Superman. Check out the entire Q&A at MLive.

Filming on Batman v Superman is underway in Detroit. We're bringing you the latest as we get it.

Charity Ambassador: Henry Launches Last Leg In 'Royal Marines' Challenge

Henry Cavill has become an ambassador for the RMCTF (Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund). Today he launched (by video link) the last leg of the Royal Marines 1664 Challenge that is raising funds for the charity:

In 2014 the Corps of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines will celebrate their 350th anniversary. To commemorate this date, Royal Marines Commandos will ski, sail, cycle, canoe and run 6656km (circa 4136 miles). The aim is to encapsulate the Commando spirit and Corps values in a significant physical and mental challenge.

Thanks to the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund for letting us know about Henry's participation in the event.

Man of Steel shows his support to Royal Marines Commandos and their once in a lifetime fundraising challenge

The Royal Marines Museum in Portsmouth will be the setting on Monday 26 May when British actor Henry Cavill officially launches the running phase of the Royal Marines 1664 Challenge. The event, which is set to raise over £500,000 for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund (RMCTF), is an exercise created for Royal Marines across the UK to celebrate the 350thanniversary of the formation of the Corps in October 1664.

The Royal Marines 350th anniversary deserved more than an ordinary challenge. Skiing 1,664km across Norway was not enough for Lieutenant Colonel Gary Green, the man behind the 1664 Challenge.

The commandos initially set off in February to ski 1,664km across Norway, they then sailed 1,664 nautical miles to Cadiz in Spain, cycled 1,664km to France, and are currently kayaking across the English Channel before finally joining Royal Marine Units across the UK to run the remaining 1,664km around the country.

All this with the added challenge of raising half a million pounds for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.

Many would say the event is a bit ambitious and few would doubt this is a huge challenge, but it is what makes the Royal Marines unique. It comes back to the ethos and standards of the Corps, such as cheerfulness in the face of adversity! It’s these values that caught the attention of British actor and Superman star Henry Cavill who has chosen the RMCTF as one of his key charities to support.

Henry says: “Royal Marine Commandos believe in what they can do. They have the courage, determination and will to succeed.
They make sacrifices and take risks; regrettably, sometimes they have to pay the price for those risks. In recent years they have experienced a significant increase in serious injuries, wounds or illness through current operations. This has not deterred the men of this proud corps; on the contrary, it has spurred them on to help their injured and wounded comrades.
We should not forget what the Royal Marines have done for the country and the many sacrifices that they have made. Now is the time, in their distinguished 350 year history, for everyone to get behind the Royal Marines; and support this extraordinary challenge and this incredible charity.”

The event has already raised an incredible £250,000 for the charity, but the run phase is when organisers expect the fundraising to reach a whole new level.

From a 1000-man strong speed march through Exmouth, and a ‘Top Gear’ style race in Plymouth, to a ‘meet the Marines’ event in Edinburgh and an abseil off Guildford Castle, there is something happening in an area near you.
Fundraisers, including volunteers from the Royal Marines Association and Sea Cadets, will be shaking buckets alongside the runners and in the streets aiming to hit the all-important half a million pound target.

Head of Fundraising at the RMCTF, Rich Kenworthy says: “In this 350th anniversary year we are asking for the British public to get behind the Royal Marines and support their epic challenge. You can visit the website www.1664challenge.co.uk to find out when the Marines will be in your town or city or you can also follow the charity and the 1664 Challenge running team, on Twitter to keep up to date with photos, videos and stories from our journey so far. This year the Royal Marines have chosen to do something amazing by raising £500,000 for the charity- let us now all help them get there.”

Henry comes from a military family. His older brother Nik, is a Royal Marine who was awarded the MBE for his work in Afghanistan. We have seen Henry wear a green bracelet in support of the charity, and today we are very happy to help spread the word about its work. Please join us.

To The Fallen Heroes: Thank You, You've Done Us Proud

Superman stands for freedom, and on a daily basis we're reminded of the ultimate sacrifice real Supermen and women have made to give us that privilege.

Henry comes from a military family and has said many times, that he would have served himself had he not gone into acting. During the Man of Steel promo, director Zack Snyder mentioned that was one of the qualities that made Henry a perfect Superman:

"He is a kind guy. The funny thing about him is I think because he comes from a military family and his brothers are in the military, this idea of service – the kind of service Superman must take on – is not foreign to him, so it's not like a thing he has to put on, like, 'In this scene, I care?"

Henry got a chance to work with members of the military, when they played extras in Man of Steel

He also took part in two (1/2) meet and greets with them at Edwards Air Force Base, and never forgets where he comes from. So on this Memorial Day we remember our fallen heroes with a simple thank you. You've done us proud.

U.N.C.L.E. Reshoots Finished, 'Batman v Superman' Location Update

Today we have an update on Henry's two upcoming films. First up, looks like work has resumed at the Kent farm in Yorkville, IL ahead of Batman v Superman filming there reportedly in the fall. A fan just shot this video, check it out.

Illinois is just now thawing out from a brutal winter, that left the farm with a blanket of snow for months. And while it looked like construction was finished when Lauren checked out the location for us, it now appears work remains to be done. This week Warner Brothers confirmed that Illinois is one of the places where Batman v Superman will be filming. We hear Yorkville may not be the only location in that state where the cast and crew will be shooting. Stay tuned for details. Back in Detroit, the only sighting we've had of apparent filming was last Friday, when Gal Gadot and director Zack Snyder were spotted on set. As we did with coverage on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. shoot, we'll go case by case in reporting potential locations. Our goal is to bring you the latest information and pictures, without disturbing the production work if possible. Then again if a set is so big everyone knows about it, we'll share that with you as well. Speaking of U.N.C.L.E., you'll remember Henry was spotted doing work in Detroit for the film just a few weeks ago. Now we have an update from actor Dan Westwood, who gave us a really cool preview of what to expect from the spy film when we spoke to him last month. He just confirmed that one last round of reshoots took place this week, and this time around he stood-in for Henry.

Henry shot at Regent's Park in London shortly after filming began last September. You can catch everything from that location in these posts: 1/2.

Dan went on to exclusively tell us a little bit more, about doubling for Henry on the U.N.C.L.E. set this week:

I was only a costume double for him before, but this is doubling 'proper', as it were! - I had the costume fitting yesterday, two very dapper suits indeed!! Don't mind if I do...

He also shared a few details about last month's reshoots at the studio:

They had me up to my neck in a big tank of water outside in the middle of the night!! Which was fun...!

Dan is a funny guy as you can tell, and we can guarantee he will make a more than proper stand-in for Solo! - Less than eight months to go until The Man from U.N.C.L.E. hits the big screen. Look for updates as we get them.

Today BuzzFeed has a funny write-up called "27 Devastating Problems Only People From Jersey Will Understand." Obviously with Henry being from Jersey we checked it out, and found this never before shared pic of him with a fan (looks like last summer) listed at #3 with this caption:

Where girls happily spend entire nights out searching for Henry Cavill.

You'll want to check out the entire list, that's ultimately coming from a good place. Go Jersey!

Fan Runs Into Henry At Grocery Store: "About To Start Filming"

The guys over at On The Flix, just posted this latest photo of Henry in Michigan. This is what they shared about the fan (DJ Juice) who met Henry & girlfriend, Gina Carano, at a Detroit area grocery store:

This interaction took place last week, and Henry told him, he was about to start filming the new Batman vs. Superman flick. He described Henry as being a very friendly guy. DJ also told us that he was picked to be an extra on the film, so congrats to him for that huge gig.

We're standing by for filming news from Detroit. As soon as we hear, you'll hear. In the meantime, check out our latest wrap.

'Batman vs. Superman' Latest: Not Everything Is A Sign

The last few days have brought tidbits of news on Batman vs. Superman but nothing major, i.e., no Man of Steel sightings just yet. Excruciating pain remember?.. anyway, here's what we have.

First off, today cinematographer Larry Fong, seemed to dismiss rumors that the card in the pic he shared on Instagram has anything to do with an appearance by The Joker in the film.
Yet since Larry has actually posted what could be considered Batman vs. Superman teasers, you can't not go there can you? - like we've said before, coverage on what's really going on behind the scenes during filming is guess work at best. Fun times. And while we agree with Steve over at Collider..

We're also like..
'Itch' is definitely the word, especially when you hear Jesse Eisenberg talk to MTV, about what convinced him to play Lex Luthor:

“The character is, luckily, a really great character” (..) “Actors can sometimes find really cool things in characters that aren’t written well. This character is written really well.”

He goes on to say the one thing he doesn't love, is getting recognized more often:

“You’re just exposed to more people, so walking down the street is more annoying.”

Who knew Lex was so modest. While Jesse has said he's not arriving in Detroit until mid-June, Ben Affleck has definitely joined Henry in the Motor City and appears to be settling in. A Detroit TV station caught up with him at an area gym Sunday. You can see the pics on their site. And Kevin Smith just shared more details on the Batman suit during his latest podcast:

"If you want to see what this f'ing suit looks like, you just go to Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, go to the third book: Hunt the Dark Knight. It's the exact f'ing outfit he's wearing. That's why I hugged that guy all those months ago (Man of Steel Q&A), I f'ing weep. When I saw it I was like, "Oh my God, you're doing a f'ing outfit I never imagined I'd see in a movie in my lifetime.""

You can listen to the part where he mentions the suit, teasing there could be more than one (and see the artwork) at about 1:35. Thanks for the heads-up Juan Mimendi.

As for Gal Gadot, we now have a much better look at her in costume as Diana Prince, on the very French set of Batman vs. Superman Friday.

Image: source unknown

You can find everything else from that day in our wrap. Over the weekend Gal was spotted back in Tel Aviv taping a commercial for a clothing company. But as you can see work continues ahead of a busy shooting schedule at the Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac.
If you have any tips, tweet us/email us: henrycavillnews@gmail.com/or send us a message on Facebook. Looking forward to more filming news soon.

'Batman vs. Superman' Filming: Here We Go!

It's all been leading up to this week. Man of Steel began to take shape in January of 2011, as Henry was cast as the Superman for the next generation. Fast forward to a hit origin story last summer, where he proved he was indeed the best man to take on the superhero role. Now with the official start of filming on the Man of Steel sequel reportedly set for tomorrow, we're eager to see where he takes Superman next. Henry has been in Detroit since January, possibly already filming some scenes. But it wasn't until Friday, that fans got a first glimpse of the Batman vs. Superman crew, as they shot a scene with Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot. Now we're ready for the main course: Bring on Man of Steel and that tweaked suit of his ;)

Look for Batman vs. Superman filming updates as they come in. You can also keep up with our posts, by checking out this handy link that you can find on our main page. And by all means, if you live in Detroit and spot filming, please tweet us/email us: henrycavillnews@gmail.com/or send us a message on Facebook. We'd love to pass on your pics, videos and reports to the rest of the fandom. Here we go!

Batman vs. Superman: First Look At Gal Gadot As Wonder Woman, Production Crew In Detroit

Image: armendarakjian (IG)

There she is! - thanks to some alert fans, today we have a first look at not only Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, but also the first shots of the Batman vs. Superman production team in the Detroit area.

Images: Michael Heidner

Mike went on to say that it was the same shot over and over, of Gadot leaving the building and getting into a car. He said he did not recognize anyone else on set. Don't miss the rest of the pics in the link below, with director Zack Snyder in da HOUSE. Thanks Eric!

We had heard a photo shoot was taking place in the area today, not necessarily filming. We're leaning towards that assumption, after the Seeds Marketing and Design agency posted the picture below (on IG) with this caption: "Still shoot for Batman vs. Superman outside our office today." We reached out to them and they confirmed that indeed they were told it was a photo shoot. Not to say filming has not begun, since we have seen online mentions of potential sets in the last few weeks. Either way, the rumored official start date is Monday and we'll likely get an announcement from Warner Bros. soon. For now we're just super excited to get our first glimpse at Gal Gadot as Diana Prince (she looks smokin'!). Now we're waiting for THE MAN to appear. What an epic day that will be! -- Updates as they come in.

UPDATE: We thought the excitement was over for today.. and then Batman vs. Superman set photographer Clay Enos shared this awesome pic of Zack. Thank you guys, and good luck with the shoot.

"He Is Superman, And It Is Really, Really Impressive"

If you keep up with our filming updates, you know we are big fans of photographer Clay Enos and his work not only in Man of Steel, but in other films as well. Now he's given an interview to the guys that run the Kind of Epic Show podcast, and you don't want to miss it. Clay talks Watchmen and his coffee journey, but of course what we were most excited to hear about, was his experience working with Henry.

How awesome it is to just to be on set and be like "Oh, I'm standing next to Superman?"

There is something very special, and I remember on the set of Man of Steel, there was a scene that shows up in the end of the movie.. I don't remember exactly when we filmed it. But Henry was there in full costume, and it was a moment that I guess would feel like an 8-year-old going to see Santa Claus. You have this image in your head of certain things, whether the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower, the Mona Lisa, the Empire State Building and then there you are in front of it.. and it's shocking. And sure enough, there I was even though it wasn't my first day of filming and I had seen Henry in costume dozens of times, if not hundreds.. but that day, you wanted to sit on his lap and tell him what you wanted for Christmas. He is, he is, Superman.. and it is really, really impressive. And again, as I stated earlier, coming from the Watchmen sensibility it's even that much more impressive how much Henry is Superman.

Clay also shot Henry's training as he became Superman for the Soldier of Steel campaign (and hopefully for Batman vs. Superman).

Clay goes on to talk about the costumes created by designer Michael Wilkinson (he calls them "incredible"), and whether we'll see his photographs in a movie companion book to Batman vs. Superman like we did with the Man of Steel one. He also describes how he goes about shooting the actors, without disturbing the work of others on a busy film set such as Man of Steel.

The whole chat it filled with wonderful details about Clay's work, but the Man of Steel/Batman vs. Superman talk really begins at about 31:30. Enjoy, and thanks to the Kind of Epic Show for the awesome interview.

All images: Clay Enos

We can't wait to see what Clay's collaboration with Zack Snyder bring us this time around. You can see much more of Clay's work on his site.

Batman vs. Superman: Ben and Henry Bringing The Big Guns

Yes, yes Ben, we see your “tired and weary and seasoned” Batman muscles. All lies of course, since what we hear you're REALLY doing, is preparing to give our Supes a kryptonite-powered beating. Ben was spotted in L.A. Tuesday, with filming on Batman vs. Superman expected to begin any day now in Detroit. Here are the rest of the pics of a buff Batman. Nice try, but good luck sizing up to Superman's guns..

(We know these are from Henry's Man of Steel days. He's BIGGER now).

If you're feeling #SadBatman today, do yourself a favor and check out the hashtag on Instagram or Twitter. We can guarantee, it will have you smiling in no time.

As for what color the suit will be, Screenrant has a pretty cool breakdown of the possible choices, our personal favorite?..

source: unknown

Hey don't blame us, blame the Internet. You know we love you right Ben?.. just not as much as Henry. Let's get this film going!

World's Finest: Let The Fan Art Creations Begin!

Now that we have a first look at Ben Affleck as Batman, fans have moved on to imagining how he will look next to Henry's Superman. We've come across some really cool fan (and professional) art, that we've put together along with the latest news on Batman vs. Superman. Check it out!

Image: AdamHLavac

Cinema Blend takes a closer look at some of the details of the Batman suit, give it a read. Also, here's a refresher for those of you not keeping track, of what the style of the suit could mean for Superman (no bueno).

Image: Eric Hall via

Today we heard from the man who created not only the Batman suit, but also the Wonder Woman one and the tweaked Man of Steel suit. We can't wait to see the rest of Michael Wilkinson's creations.

As for the Batmobile, Blue Realm Studios shared a picture of a model that looks a whole lot like the car. See it and read more at Batman-News.com.

Image: FogDark7

As soon as the new image was released by director Zack Snyder, eagle-eyed fans immediately started looking for Easter eggs. Some say you can see The Joker in the background. Yes, that smiling face by the wheel of the car. We're not so sure (you can see it a lot better in this post). Then again, cinematographer Larry Fong (UncleWow on IG) has been posting clues from the set. Just a few weeks ago, he shared this image..

Whether we see The Joker in the film or not, we are definitely getting Lex Luthor. Jesse Eisenberg can't talk much about his role, but he did mention how he plans to tackle it while chatting with IGN:

IGN Movies: (..) How much of a game changer will your Lex Luthor be from the incarnations we've seen of this character in the past?

Jesse Eisenberg: It'll definitely be played by a different person, but I don't know really how different this -- I don't know the history as well as the people making the movie, so I guess it's up to them to figure out how much they want to separate it from previous incarnations. But I will treat it like it's its own role. There's no way to play the history of the character played by other people, unless you do some kind of wink, but that doesn't seem like a responsible way to act. So I will just do it as though it's a character, in the same way you do a movie like The Double, which is a smaller movie -- but you just kind of treat it like a character, and that's probably the best course of action, I think.

Read the rest at IGN. Filming reportedly begins Monday, and we're ready to bring you the latest Batman vs. Superman news as it happens. Let's do this Man of Steel!
