Absolutely loved #TheManFromUNCLE. Suave, thrilling, cheeky, stylish and most importantly, Henry Cavill in suits. Guy Ritchie does it again.

@ManFromUNCLE is the most enjoyable film I've seen all year. Hands down one of my top 3 in the past few years.

The film is outstanding, but it's facing some tough competition at the U.S. box office. However according to Deadline, U.N.C.L.E. is doing great business overseas.
Russia dominated the B.O. with 60% of the market share on 1,804 screens. In first place, the Guy Ritchie-directed film has accumulated twice that of No. 2, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation with a cume of $1.2M.
In the United Kingdom, U.N.C.L.E. is off to a decent start with $749K at 505 venues. Performance is strong in London, particularly the West End, and the South with those regions gaining higher than average market shares. The Vue Westfield was the pic’s highest grossing site, with Imax hubs overperforming. Friday’s figure is in the sphere of The Bourne Identity, Red and Get Smart. (..)
Many markets will continue to have holidays for another three to four weeks and Warner Bros. International plans to take advantage of the play period heading into September.
C'mon U.S., you still have time to do your part - represent!

ReplyDeleteDaniela :)
I went last night to see this film! I thought it was great! Reminds me of old James Bond movies which I love! I've always wanted to see Henry as Bond and I kinda feel like I have now.. But I still hope he gets to someday!
ReplyDeleteHenry has his new hair cut in the picture with Brad. It's great to see him with friends that support him. Maybe Brad & his girlfriend were able to visit Henry while he's been in the states to promote UNCLE.
ReplyDeleteSaw it last night in glorious IMAX. Trust me, 50' x 72' of Henry was worth it! Delightful movie that was of course, lovely to look at, with good action sequences and laugh out loud funny! Music is fabuous and really becomes another character, especially in one scene.
ReplyDeleteI want another one of these so go this and let WB know we want more Solo!
Seen on Imax brilliant, can we have next installment now. Knew Henry could do sarcasm but this was with twinkle in the eye ;-)
ReplyDeleteJus checked boxofficemojo.com and was so shocked that MFU's thurs take was only 900k! :( opening wkend numbers are nt gonna b gd... too bad i couldnt contribute as it wont b showing in sg till sept! *sob* here's hoping MFU will have the legs 2 carry on 4 wks n does well internationally. I know i will b visiting e theatres multiple times bringing diff grp of friends 2 watch MFU n henry :D
ReplyDeleteI will go to see the movie with frinds when it playing in the egyption theaters
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see this film! It premiers in Mexico until Sept. 6th so I just have to wait a bit longer :(
ReplyDeleteAnd whoa, Henry looks so handsome with that haircut! :O
I truly loved the movie! Took my 8-year-old daughter with me (she said she didn't want to see it). She ended up loving it as well. Henry, you did a fantastic job. Your sexiness stole the show!
ReplyDeleteMan From U.N.C.L.E is a fun, witty, sexy, cool, stylish and cleverly made film. Best movie I've seen in quite a while. It's everything a summer movie should be. Just buy some popcorn, sit back and enjoy the show. It really is a shame that a movie with all of these qualities doesn't seem to be doing the kind of business that it should be. It was excellent. The people in the theater were clapping in parts. I can't remember the last time I've seen that happen in a theater. I really hope that word of my mouth can get more people to go see it in future weeks. The ending screamed sequel. I liked it so much that I am going to go see it again tomorrow. This time in IMAX.
ReplyDeleteU.N.C.L.E. is a breath of fresh air with all the superhero and explosion-filled movies in the past years. It's fun, fast-paced, sexy, very very stylish and again sexy without going overboard. The editing was very stylish and the scoring was superb. Henry Cavill fits the role perfectly and yes he should play the next bond...it would be a crime not to bestow him the 007 title. I just hope it will do better than the first day or in the international market coz' it really deserves a sequel....I'm praying more people will watch it and appreciate it's uniqueness.
