'Batman v Superman' Trailer Attached To Mad Max: Fury Road

The wait is almost over!

According to the very reliable Collider, The Batman v Superman trailer will indeed be attached to Mad Max: Fury Road:

After speaking with a few sources, I’m happy to report the first Batman v Superman trailer is on the cusp of being released. I’m told it’s absolutely attached to all copies of Mad Max: Fury Road, which is an obvious place for it to debut seeing as how Mad Max is WB’s first big movie of the summer. What I’ve heard is that Warners isn’t sure it wants to release the trailer while Avengers: Age of Ultron is destroying records and driving all social traffic during the end of April and early May. If they wait until the weekend Mad Max opens on May 15th, Avengers will have already been out for two weeks and they can take over the conversation at a time when everyone is ready to talk about Batman and Superman. The bottom line is: we will absolutely have seen the first Batman v Superman trailer by May 15th.

Collider does go on to say, there is always a chance the trailer could be released well before that date. One thing is for sure, we'll be here to share it with you as soon as it hits. Go Henry!

UPDATE 1/1: In case there was any doubt.. Variety has now also confirmed the news. Yaaaas!

Designer Calls 'Man of Steel' Suit: "A Wonder of Engineering"

The millennial "Man of Steel" Superman, which was initially designed by James Acheson, is nothing short of a "wonder of engineering," according to Wilkinson. It involves a multiple layers: a sculpted chrome muscle suit (because a compression body suit actually flattens out an actor's pumped up muscles), then a thin, sheer and 3D-printed chainmail-like blue mesh overlaid with foam-latex shapes. "It’s all about building up layers and creating depth," Wilkinson explains. "It felt like some alien metal, something very strong and powerful."

It's no surprise to hear how much work went into creating Henry's Man of Steel suit. Just a look at the costume tells the story of its intricate design. Now in a new interview with Fashionista, designer Michael Wilkinson has shared new details about Henry's suit in Batman v Superman.

Of course, there can't be just one copy of the Superman suit or Mockingbird's badass onesie — not only because of wear and tear, but also the context of the scenes and storylines. For instance, Superman might need a lightweight cape for action sequences, plus another that looks appropriate for standing or walking. Other versions might require strategically placed holes for wires and harnesses, or are manipulated to accommodate CG that's added during post-production.

Additional costumes are also needed to fit the proportions and individual movements of all the specialized stunt doubles. Mockingbird currently has three outfits (two for actress Adrianne Palicki and one for her stunt double) and Superman counts 18 multiples. "It sounds like a lot, but it’s never enough," Wilkinson says.

As you can imagine, getting the actor into the finished product isn't exactly as simple as walking into a phone booth to change outfits. Wilkinson says they've managed to efficiently whittle Henry Cavill's Superman dressing routine down to 15 minutes, while outfitting Ben Affleck in his Batsuit takes closer to 25 — and that's with help. "It does involve multiple costumers," Wilkinson said. "It’s not the sort of thing that I could just sit in Ben's trailer and he gets into it himself. It’s a six-handed operation."

Michael Wilkinson also relayed the message he got from director Zack Snyder, when working on the costumes:

Zack Snyder, director of "Batman v Superman," "Man of Steel" and "Justice League" parts one and two, likes to keep his superhero-studded films rooted in the present day. "He really wants these characters to connect directly to our world," says Wilkinson. "So if you were walking down the street and you came across Superman or Batman — of course it would be startling and powerful — but it could actually happen in our world rather than in a stylized version of our reality."

Wilkinson goes on to talk in detail about Batman and Aquaman's suits, so make sure to read the entire interview over at Fashionista!

Empire Told Us Henry Can Dance, And Now We Have Proof

Let's be honest, you know that tweet left you wondering about Henry's dancing skills. And if you're a long time reader, you also know this isn't the first time we've thought about it. But today we may have the first photographic proof of.. HENRY LOOKING GOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR.

Okay, okay.. so we don't REALLY see him dancing. It's more like just him flashing that sexy smile while he chats with a group on the dance floor.. but Empire magazine wouldn't lie to its 331,000 twitter followers!

That's all we need to know, really. Go, Superman! (nice to see Henry having some fun) -- Don't miss everything else from the Empire Awards.

Thanks for the pic, Lucy.

Durrell Fundraiser: Henry To Be Special Guest At Siam Cup

We just got word that Henry will be attending the Siam Cup in Jersey, in support of Durrell Wildlife. Read the official press release with his statement. Much more to come!

Henry flies back to Jersey to spearhead Ipes Siam Cup rugby fundraiser for Durrell Conservation

One of Jersey RFC's best-known fans will be the VIP guest at the club's final game of the season, the annual Siam Cup clash against Guernsey on May 2nd. Superman actor Henry Cavill will be at St Peter in his role as an Ambassador for the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which is the focus of a major fund-raising day coinciding with the Ipes Siam Cup. Henry was announced as Durrell's first-ever Ambassador last August, stepping up to underline his personal enthusiasm for conservation by agreeing to support the work of Durrell both on his home Island and globally. He will be involved in a busy day that will include charity auctions for items such as exclusive tours of the Durrell Wildlife Park, signed prints and rare merchandise, a bucket collection and a chance to meet supporters. The Siam Cup's history dates back to 1920 and the trophy is competed for annually as the finale to the rugby season in the Channel Islands. This year's event, sponsored for the second time by specialist fund administrator Ipes, will feature four matches as the Caesareans host their Sarnian rivals in three men's matches - 1st team, 2nd team and Veterans - and the Ladies Siam.

Commenting on the event, Henry said: “Being a Rugby fan and someone who is keen on protecting the wildlife of this world (rugby players included) what better place to be than at the Siam Cup with Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust? It sounds like it’s going to be a fantastic event! So I hope to see you all there. You'll find me about the grounds and clubhouse throughout the day, hopefully with a pint in hand!”

Jersey Chairman Bill Dempsey said he was delighted that Henry had accepted the invitation to attend the Siam Cup day. We've been hoping that Henry would be able to find room in his busy schedule to make it back to his home rugby club, he said. We're anticipating a big crowd, a fantastic atmosphere and the chance to raise some serious funds for the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, a cause that is very close to his heart.

Dr Lee Durrell, Honorary Director of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, said: We are overjoyed to learn that our wonderful ambassador, Henry Cavill, will be in Jersey soon helping Durrell once more on home ground. We couldn't have asked for a more supportive, dedicated person to have made us his charity of choice. Tickets for the Ipes Siam Cup, priced £10 for adults are now available from Jersey RFC or via the JT Rewards website. Admission for JRFC members is £5, while under 18s will be admitted free.

We'll continue bringing you updates as we get closer to the event. In the meantime make sure to check out cavillconservation.com, where you can keep up with Henry's latest posts. While there you can also join Henry's gorilla family, by purchasing an adoption package that includes a signed pic by him. There are various options for you to choose from -- all benefiting the charity, so check them out!

Henry Looking Suave In Grey At The Jameson Empire Awards

Talk about a Sunday surprise! - Henry showed up at the Jameson Empire Awards looking amazing in a Tom Ford suit. He made quite an impression, as he greeted fans on the red carpet. Loving the beard, Superman!

DON'T MISS Henry's interview. He mentions Stratton, Batman v Superman,  and even his beard!

Henry presented the Best Director award. Here's how it went down, via the Jameson Empire Awards blog:

Was that a bird? There’s a weird buzz in here. Was it a plane? There’s almost a trembling. Wait, no, it’s Superman! Henry Cavill is presenting this one, and there’s a strange sound in the room, as if several hundred women (and men) all sighed in unison at this paragon of male beauty. He's clearly still in Superman mode too..

And the winner is…CHRISTOPHER NOLAN

Christopher Nolan’s so committed to realism that we were a little surprised he didn’t literally shoot Interstellar in space, if we’re honest. But he did at least push his technical teams hard enough that they discovered some new scientific principles worthy of peer-reviewed publication, so that’s pretty good too. And here he is to accept his award!

Nolan: "You've heard far too much from me already, so thank you to Empire, the readers of Empire, so I'll just thank my brother Jonah who wrote the script and Kip Thorne who gave us the science."

Mirror UK:

Henry Cavill and Kit Harington were among the stars at the Empire Awards on Sunday night. Looking dapper in their suits, both British actors hit the red carpet in true style – standing out with their hipster beards. (..) Henry Cavill, who is set to star in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is due out next year, kept his muscles under wraps at the event, which was held at Grosvenor House Hotel.

The End via the
Jameson Empire Awards blog:

"Wow, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson and Jimmy Nesbitt on the same stage," marvels Nesbitt. "What a night!"

And indeed, it really has been. Nesbitt wraps it up, and it's time for those of us who eat carbs to try to find where Henry Cavill's sitting, since he obviously won't be allowed to touch any of the food.

Thanks to you all for voting for another great awards show, and please go check out those speeches when you can. Now, if you'll excuse us, we're off to prepare for the after party, and see which stars we can persuade to abandon their shoes and dignity this year.
