Detroit Update: Soggy Day On The Set Of 'Batman v Superman'


Rodney (yendor187 on IG) checked out the downtown Detroit set of Batman v Superman today, and shared these new photos with us. It was a rainy day in Detroit, so there was not as much movement as yesterday. Rodney says the cars below have been parked there for days, likely to be used in those rumored street scenes later this week. You can see a few more photos from there on his Instagram page.  


Rodney was also on set Monday and here are those (much sunnier-looking) photos. 



The man that gave the world a first look at Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, today is back with this cool update. Samuel Otten (@ottensam) managed to stabilize his video, and you can see Ben much better now. 


And check out our director! - @Bananadoc was on set yesterday, and got this great shot of Zack Snyder along with a few more pictures.

Sure, we've seen the fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars.. but now we have a Metropolis cab sighting! (it's the little things).


Hey! here's Zack today. Minus the scruff... may or may not have a minor crush on our director. There, we said it.


Check out everything else so far from that set. It's really great to see the Batman v Superman production working in downtown Detroit, we only wish a certain Clark Kent would have been there. But his time will come. Hopefully sooner than later.

'Batman v Superman' Films In Downtown Detroit, More Comic-Con Goodness


Here they are. The first images from the downtown Detroit set of Batman v Superman today. The photos were captured by photographer Chris Gerard, who says that's all he could get before production blocked the view. Gerard lives near this film set, that was built over the past month.

The tweets and pics started coming in, as soon as the cast and crew began to gather at that location this morning.  

And Ben Affleck was reportedly there (Abby clarified that she saw him as Bruce Wayne).

He even shot some video (a little shaky, but we'll take it!)


On a side note, Latino Review explains why you won't be seeing any Metropolis damage from Darkseid until at least Justice League 2. Which hasn't even been announced. Read more.

While it should be a busy week for the Batman v Superman production, we don't expect any Superman sightings since Henry is now in London doing reshoots for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. - We'll be keeping an eye on both London and Detroit, and bringing you the latest updates.

We had heard filming on Batman v Superman was headed to Chicago at the end of October for a few days, but now Screen magazine says it could be much longer than that:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice currently filming in Michigan, was initially expected to only pass through Illinois for four or five days, but now it's looking like the production might be setting up shop in the state for four or five weeks.

Illinois Film Office Director Betsy Steinberg added, “Batman and Superman have spent a lot of time in our great state and we are thrilled to host them again for as long as possible.”

Get ready to give Clark a big welcome home Illinois!

It's only been a week since Comic-Con 2014 wrapped in San Diego, and we're already counting down to what promises to be a HUGE feast for Batman v Superman fans come next year. We were there to bring you all the excitement (don't miss our Hall H exclusives) -- along with other bloggers including The Nerd Truth. They captured the brief appearance by the cast on stage from a different angle than ours. Check out that Superman swag... err, their pics.

As for that now infamous 'Selfie of Justice' that Chris Hardwick took in Hall H, he tells Entertainment Weekly it was not THAT big of a deal:

''There were more selfies than last year. This selfie I took with part of the Justice League circulated quite a bit, but then I also got a selfie with the Avengers. I don't take sides.''

 Just when we were starting to like Chris.. see you next year Comic-Con.

That One Time, When Maddie Met Henry In Michigan..


He may be in London right now, but Henry has left plenty of fans waiting for him in Detroit. Maddie met him a few weeks ago (it looks like it was the same day he met these lucky people). Thank you for sharing!

U.N.C.L.E. Reshoots: Big Dilemma For The Costume Department


T-minus just over five months to go, until the release of The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and we can't wait to see Henry smooth-talk his way as agent Solo on the big screen. This week he's back in London for reshoots, along with his costar Armie Hammer. Armie's lovely wife Elizabeth posted this picture from there this weekend. Hello agent Kuryakin!


We've been bringing you updates since Henry got the role of super-spy Napoleon Solo back in May of last year, so if you're catching up make sure to check out these handy links 1/2 - that include plenty of exclusive pictures and more.


Today, we are following up with Dan Westwood, who doubled for Henry in U.N.C.L.E. - check out the Solo suit!


He was back doing reshoots recently while Henry was already in Detroit working on Batman v Superman. Dan shared with us what he could (meaning no spoilers) about his latest days on set as Solo.
All went really well & they seemed very happy with what we got at the end of it, so job well done really!

They reshot some explosions etc., on the water stage (amazing to watch!!) then a dramatic getaway!!!

Finished up in Regents park, meant to be West Berlin! (Henry shot there last year--> 1/2.) for some wide & panning shots of Henry (me) & another guy (details unnecessary) walking and talking in the park...

And there you have it!

Considerably better than the outside tank of water shoot on the backlot @ Warner Bros. a few months back!!

That really should be it for good now, although having previously announced 3 times on twitter that I'd wrapped on it for good (again!), I'm sure there'll be something else further down the line?! Lord knows!

Oh, and the costume department were telling me that they were having a nightmare with Henry as he kept getting bigger & bigger throughout the filming. He was starting to get back in shape for Superman, to the point where they made him stop as none of his suits fit him properly anymore, as they're very fitted at that!!

That made me chuckle!

Good job I'm pretty broad already or I'd have had no chance of pulling it off!! 

And that's where things stood BEFORE filming wrapped last December. Can you imagine the movie magic they will have to pull off to shrink Henry into his Solo wardrobe now?

Anyway, thanks again to Dan for giving us a taste of what we're in for come next January 16, when The Man from U.N.C.L.E. opens in the U.S. and the UK. We hear nothing but great things about the film and Henry, and just know he'll be an awesome Solo. Look for updates from this week's filming as/if we get them.

Superman Sighting: New Pics of Henry In London


Talk about a vision in blue! - Sarah Maddock's cousin got this great photo with Henry, while he was out and about in London today. Nico then told us a bit more about how they met him.

We're so happy for them, as well as for Lydia, who happened to see Henry on the street.



UPDATE 8/3: Fifi_Piccadilly (IG) posted her photo, after her and friend met Henry at Hyde Park. What can we say, London looks great on him.


Henry is back home for a while and some other fans met him Friday. It's nice to hear he's enjoying his time off, because he'll be back to work in no time. First reportedly on U.N.C.L.E. and then on Batman v Superman.

Detroit Filming: Bird's Eye View Of 'Batman v Superman' Set


Leave it to a Detroit TV station, to give us a first real glimpse of the latest set of Batman v Superman. It's total destruction in there (now we know where those crushed Metropolis public vehicles went). The quick clip also gave us a first look at the Wayne logo. Click on the picture to watch, but we warn you the video is a little spoilery. It definitely looks like filming is getting ready to go at that location. Too bad Superman won't be there to save the day, since Henry is now back home in London for reshoots on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. - Stay tuned for updates!

Two stars of the film who appear to be busy preparing for their roles, are Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa (yes, he IS Aquaman). The two posted pictures from a Michigan climbing wall Friday, on their Instagram accounts.

Henry Back In London: U.N.C.L.E. Reshoots & Family Time






Go Grace! representing for those of us who couldn't be there. No rest for Superman, as he is now in London just days after appearing at Comic-Con and returning to Detroit for more filming on Batman v Superman. Word is Henry is back home for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. reshoots, and for a bit of some family time. Grace and her family ran into him today, and she shared more with us about their chance encounter:

My dad spotted him with family/friends putting bags and pushchair into a cab. Dad thought he was called George but I quickly corrected him (true fan!). My dad just went up to him and asked if he was Henry and he was like yeah, yeah!! - then my dad asked if me and my sister could have a photo and he said "come on then girls!!" - then my mum jumped in the photo as well!! 

We got a couple of photos an then my dad thanked him, and was buzzing, and was like thank you so much!! and we said we thought the film was brilliant. He said he's glad we enjoyed it. And my dad shook his hand and he waved and off he went. 

 Grace later added:

So glad Henry took the time to speak to us, as his family/friends were already in the cab and waiting for him. 

Thanks for sharing your awesome pic and story Grace. Will Wheeler met Henry later that night. 


See, how do you not LOVE this guy? -- Henry once again showing what an amazing person he is, always attentive to his fans. Enjoy your time back home Superman err.. Solo! - See the rest of the pics from London.
