Batman v Superman Wrap: Variant Covers, Details On Henry's Suit, His Interview With Close Up Magazine

How cool are these??

As the release of Batman v Superman gets closer (a little bit more than three months to go!) the promotion for the film is starting to intensify.

Not only that, we also got a new promo clip from the official Batman v Superman site..

And this is something you don't want to miss, costume designer Michael Wilkinson was in Brazil promoting Batman v Superman a few days ago, and he shared some really cool details about Henry's costume..

Omelete: Is the Superman costume the same one from Man of Steel?

MW: It’s a little bit different. The amazing thing about working on these big franchise films is that everytime you do another, you get to make the costumes even more compelling and more exciting. The one thing I love about my job is that we get to explore new costume technologies and new ways of making costumes. Two years later, there’s new materials, new digital technologies. We use a lot of 3D printing and we scan our actors and we build costumes in the computer.

MW: So, with the Superman costume, we have a new material. The suit is a little bit more sheer, so you really get the sense of this metal undersuit coming through the blue oversuit and we have a new fabric for the cape. And, also, Zack wanted to include a Joseph Campbell quote in the suit, so there’s a quote from Joseph Campbell: ‘Where we thought to stand alone, we will be with all the world‘ and we decided to translate that into Kryptonian and we put it through the ‘S’ on his chest, through his cuffs, his belt, through his bicep, just to give a little extra something for the fan with very sharp vision to appreciate.

Wilkinson went on to talk about the production time for Justice League in London: It will shoot for six months, with about six months of prep work (so basically Henry will be busy as Supes all of 2016). The costume designer also confirmed some spoilery details about Batman v Superman, so watch his interview (at about 49:55) or read the details here

Finally, Close Up magazine (UK) has shared their Q&A with Henry (apparently conducted during the press tour for The Man from U.N.C.L.E.). We've shared some of the quotes before, since it appears to have been a roundtable interview, but make sure to give it a read.

March will be here in no time, and we're ready to bring you the latest Batman v Superman news (and everything Justice League) as it happens!

Festive London: Henry Enjoying The Holiday Season At Home

Like many of us, we've heard Henry enjoys the holiday season and everything it has to offer. That of course includes a trip to the theater to see The Nutcracker. Only in his case it's at a world class venue, where the dancers are his friends.

Lucky London..

After spending Christmas away from home these past couple of years as he trained for his films, it looks like this year Henry gets to relax during the holiday season. It's well deserved (he just wrapped Sand Castle in Jordan), and he'll be back to work in no time preparing to become Supes again in Justice League.

First Sammy Sheik shares a smiling selfie with Henry, and now he gives us another inadvertent glimpse of Captain Syverson while he was in Jordan.

Sammy captured the moment, while posing with the woman behind the bloody exteriors, makeup artist Jemma Harwood. Just a few days ago Henry shared his close-up of her work on his Instagram, along with another great shot from the set.

While Henry is back in London after finishing his work in Sand Castle, filming continues for the next few weeks. And we've been getting some cool pics from the sets, courtesy of his costars who are now back in "Baghdad." The film is expected to hit theaters next year.

Henry Back In London, And The Beard Is Gone! (Watch Him Shave It Off)

A photo posted by Angel-A (@angelabnt) on

We figured Henry had finished filming, when we got a pic from Jordan a few days ago calling it a "wrap" for him. But then he posted a couple of more pics from the Sand Castle set. Now we now for sure he's back in London, after Angela got to meet him last night.

We're glad to see him home for the holidays!

Henry is set to begin pre-production work on Justice League (in London) at the beginning of 2016, and of course he'll be busy promoting Batman v Superman ahead of the film's release in March.

Naahh.. right? (though it would be super awesome!)

UPDATE: And just when we thought the start of the weekend couldn't get any better.. we actually get to watch Henry shave off the beard! (and give a SUPER shoutout too).

That's how you rock your Instagram and Facebook. Go share your thoughts with him!

By the way, here's the song that's playing in the background (via @cavillsworth)..

Ready Or Not, Here Comes A Bleeding Captain Syverson

"What do you mean I've got something in my face? #SandCastle"

Okay, Captain Syverson.. you're scaring us now.

Henry has posted a second pic from the Sand Castle set in less than 24 hours (along with a funny caption), but we have to admit we're never ready to see him bleed on screen. He's done it many times, and will do so in Batman v Superman too. But this time around the film is based on real events, bringing a grittiness to Henry's role that we can't wait to see when Sand Castle opens next year. Nice job keeping it method, Henry..

In Production: Henry Posts First Pic From The 'Sand Castle' Set

"Makin' a donut run. Who's in? #SandCastle"

Guess that answers the question on whether Henry is still in Jordan! (maybe).

Today Captain Syverson himself, posted this pic from the Sand Castle set and he's looking fierce. We had gotten a few other shots of Henry as the special forces captain in the Iraq war drama, but this is the first set photo he posts online. The movie also starring Nicholas Hoult, is expected to be released sometime next year with filming set to wrap in the next few weeks.

Thanks for the update Henry!

Keep up with him on Instagram and Facebook.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Out On Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital HD Today

We're kicking off the week, by celebrating today's UK release of the The Man from U.N.C.L.E. on Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD. And we have some exclusive clips to share with you, courtesy of Warner Brothers.

Here are some of our favorite ones, you can watch the rest on our playlist.

Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer are two of the biggest rising stars in Hollywood, both known for playing action heroes and performing daring deeds with some risky stunts. But now it’s time to find out who is the most daring dude of all. In support of the home entertainment release of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. which is available on Digital HD, Blu-ray™ and DVD today, we pit the two stars against each other in their most well known (and not so well known) roles for this ultimate hero-off.

THE SUPERHERO:

Superman vs The Lone Ranger

The Lone Ranger has skills a-plenty such as his excellent prowess on a horse, plus he sure knows how to wield a gun. But, The Lone Ranger is not so lonely, as he has help from a Comanche Native American called Tonto, which means he’s lying about his title; not very hero-esque.

Superman has his own super-human powers and can deflect bullets, he also has super human strength. He can throw cars around like they’re confetti! The actor worked hard to bulk out for the role so Henry gets super points for sheer dedication alone.

They equal each other in their ambitions for good and doing what’s right, using their skills only in defense, so that’s plus points on both sides. And, although The Lone Ranger may be a hero, he needs weapons and help unlike Superman who is practically a weapon himself, he is known as the ‘Man of Steel.’ Ultimately, Superman aka Henry Cavill has to win. He is Superman after all!

Score: Henry 1- Armie 0

THE ROYALS:

The Tudors vs Mirror Mirror

Henry Cavill plays an English nobleman, The Duke of Suffolk, in hit TV series The Tudors. He is cunning and smart, strong and scheming with a political penchant. With his wits and status, he rises amongst the ranks and earns land and power. Proving sometimes brains are better than brawn when it comes to heroism.

This said, Armie plays a Prince in Mirror Mirror which in hierarchal terms outranks a Duke and he stands at a princely height of 6’5”. Sorry Henry. And although Armie’s Prince Alcott is easily fooled by Queen Clementianna and is tricked into drinking a ‘Puppy Love’ potion which makes him googly eyed for a pooch, the all-American boy still outranks Henry who actually angers King Henry VIII after marrying his sister.

Score: Henry 1 – Armie 1

THE INTELLECTS:

Immortals vs The Social Network

In Immortals Henry plays Theseus, a demigod, son of Aethra by two fathers: Aegeus and Poseidon (God of the Sea)Things must get #awkward at family gatherings. The 6ft tall demigod knows how to yield a sword too.

Armie Hammer plays the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network. The characters are incredibly intelligent and arguably have super human intelligence, attending one of the most prestigious universities in the world. But, demigod vs two humans? Sorry Armiea demigod beats any number of humans even with incredible intellect so Theseus/Henry wins this one

Score: Henry 2- Armie 1

THE THRILLERS:

The Cold Light of Day vs Blackout

In The Cold Light of Day Henry Cavill is a young businessman who flies to Spain for a family holiday on board their boat. He returns to the boat one day and finds his family is gone and will be killed if he does not deliver a missing briefcase. Fights, car chases and action ensues as Henry unwittingly takes on the role of ‘spy’ and battles to save his family.

Ladies' man Tommy (Armie Hammer) gets stuck in a malfunctioning elevator in scary thriller Blackout. He rocks some serious neck tattoo and looks like a rock’n’roll, hell raising bad boy in this flick, which is a far cry from any previous boy next door type role he’s played before. It’s a shame he didn’t pull out his real-life guitar skills to woo his women but his luck with the ladies could rival any international super spy, so looks like Armie wins this one.

Score: Henry 2 – Armie 2

THE EARLY STUFF

The Count of Monte Cristo vs Veronica Mars

They both started their careers worlds apart, Henry Cavill in a period film alongside Guy Pearce and Richard Harris. Henry Cavill stars as a Viscount Albert Mondego in The Count of Monte Cristo whilst Armie Hammer plays a sports jock in Veronica Mars, which in many American High Schools is actually considered to be a hero.

Mondego is a 19th century aristocrat who ends up entwined in revenge plots and duels with sensational sword fights afoot. This may not be a fair fight, as it’s a competition between a classic literary hero and a modern pop-culture one, yet Cavill seems to be winning this one. Even if we are just biased towards his incomparable British charm.

Score: Henry 3 – Armie 2

AND FINALLY... THE ULTIMATE BATTLE:

THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

Napoleon Solo vs Illya Kuryakin

From the very beginning of their careers, now to their most recent action outbreak; these two super sleuths come almost neck and neck in the ultimate hero stakes.

Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) is the suave American spy who always keeps his cool, versus Illya Kuryakin the Russian weapon who is ready to go off at any point. Solo is urbane, self-assured, sociable and charming. Kuryakin, on the other hand, is reserved, intellectual, and intense. It’s a tough call as Armie does do a lot of his own stunt work but based on Solo’s cool, calm demeanour and charm, Henry wins in the final hero-off.

Score: Henry 4 – Armie 2

AND THE WINNER IS... HENRY CAVILL (we may be a bit biased).

'Sand Castle' Production: New Set Pic Of Henry With His Costars

It's sure nice to see you again, Captain Syverson!

We've only gotten a few glimpses of Henry as he filmed Sand Castle in Jordan, but could he already be done? -- It certainly looks like it based on that update by Matt Sinnreich. Actor Neil Brown Jr. also posted a farewell kinda caption with his latest photo from the set.

And check out this neat comparison of the actors and the troops they are portraying in the film, via screenwriter Chris Roessner's wife.

While filming is reportedly continuing through the end of the year, it appears some of the cast is done with their work. Congratulations to those headed home, and if that includes/included Henry, we can't wait to see him back in London for the holidays. Sand Castle is expected to be released sometime next year.

'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.' On TIME's 'Best of 2015' List

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. will be released on Blu-ray/DVD in the UK on Monday, and it's a movie you definitely want to own! (and not just because Henry can do more than fly).

Moviegoers are loving his take on agent Solo..

And now TIME has named U.N.C.L.E. one of the 'Top 10 Best Movies of 2015:'

Guy Ritchie’s riff on the Cold War-era TV show is an old-school pleasure, the kind of light spy caper that’s as rare these days as a pristine vintage Courrèges mini-dress. In this three-way flirt-fest, a trio of extraordinary-looking spy types—played by Alicia Vikander, Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer—revel in one another’s style and charisma, and that goes for the men, too. Once we’ve lost our taste for beautiful people, the movies really are finished.

Congratulations to the cast and crew. The honor is well deserved!

The film debuted at a strong #3 on U.S. home video sales charts, and Robert let us know about a poll that shows its popularity with IMDb users:

Thought the readers might want to join the vote. U.N.C.L.E. has now surpassed "SPECTRE” to take the NUMBER TWO SPOT!........

Join the vote!

Finally, five words: MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. WRAPPING PAPER.

Have a great weekend everyone!

That Time.. When Henry Was A Cowboy

Throwback Thursday #TBT - In honor of the newest Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer we are throwing it back to the time Superman, Henry Cavill (@HenryCavill) stopped by Ranchman's to do a little two steppin during Stampede. Henry, it was an honor to have you and we'd love to have you in again. #Ranchmans #TBT #Throwback #Thursday #ThrowbackThursday #Superman #Batman #HenryCavill #Calgary #YYC #Calgaryism

We remember this day!

Henry was in Canada for his brother Charlie's wedding, having just premiered Man of Steel around the world. And some lucky ladies got the chance to hang out with his cowboy-self. Here's everything else from that trip 1/2/3/4.

Bet he can line dance with the best of them ;)

P.S. If you haven't watched the new Batman v Superman trailer, WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU WAITING FOR?? -- Henry is definitely the man for that job. -- WATCH.

UPDATE 12/4: It looks like everyone is excited about Supes' work! -- BAFTA Los Angeles gave him a shoutout as well for #tbt. Here is our wrap from that day.

And El Paso's Hillside coffee is giving him a high five today. Henry filmed part of Batman v Superman in nearby New Mexico, and plenty of fans got to meet him while he was there.

We were lucky enough to be in the audience, when Ben popped in to help Jimmy Kimmel release the trailer.. and shenanigans ensued.
