FanDome Schedule Out, 'Nomis' Q&A, Happy Anniversary, Solo!

Gosh, we get zero news for days and then bam! -- It's been eventful, to say the least.

Henry kicked off the weekend with a fun Friday throwback and that was followed by Guy Ritchie's post marking the fifth anniversary of The Man From U.N.C.L.E.'s release. Then Henry had to go and comment on the director's post to leave us feeling all mushy...

Here's to Solo getting that second adventure teased at the end of the film.

Another role fans have really loved, was Henry's emotional performance in Nomis/Night Hunter. Guy at the Movies is planning a watchalong on August 29, followed by a Q&A with director David Raymond. Tune in at 7pm EST.

Finally, the DC FanDome schedule has been released and Zack Snyder will be joined by special guests at 5:45pm EST next Saturday, for a panel discussing his original cut of Justice League.

via Deadline:

The Snyder Cut of Justice League

Zack Snyder fields questions from fans and a few surprise guests as he discusses his eagerly awaited upcoming cut of the 2017 feature film and the movement that made it happen. (25 min)

Now that work is underway to reopen Arborfield Studios where The Witcher had been filming before the coronavirus shut everything down, there's an apparent restart date for Season 2!

Production Weekly (via) is reporting filming could resume August 3rd. According to Deadline, Netflix worked with the British Film Commission to draw up production protocols to ensure the safety of everyone on set.

We look forward to bringing you updates on everything The Witcher. In the meantime, make sure you check out Henry's promo interviews from Season 1 on our YouTube channel.

'The Witcher' S1 BTS, When Show Could Resume Production

"Damn ⁦he looks good in profile. Shooting one of opening scenes for ep 7"

As we wait for word on when The Witcher could resume filming on Season 2, director Marc Jobst has come through with this neat behind the scenes pic from S1.

Production on S2 was paused almost a month ago, around the time actor Kristofer Hivju announced on Instagram that he had tested positive for coronavirus (he's now recovering at home).

The cast has been in self-isolation like the rest of the world, sharing updates here and there. So when could we see them return to the set? -- Deadline Hollywood estimates that shows like The Witcher, may not resume production until at least July. It will likely depend on when the UK eases its social-distancing restrictions since that is where the series is being filmed.

According to Deadline, Netflix has begun paying minimum guarantees to regular cast members on its shows:

"I hear actors on series, which were filming or about to go into production at the time everything was put on hold, are receiving their minimum guarantees. That’s episodic fees for the minimum number of episodes each regular cast member is guaranteed on a show each season per their contract (it varies)."

Netflix's Ted Sarandos told CNN last month, that disruptions could come later this year:

"What’s happening now is we work pretty far ahead with delivering all the episodes of our shows at once so no disruption over the net few months, maybe later in the year as physical production is not operational."

For now, we wait. But fair warning to Henry, other Witchers are already training to take his place!

Stay home. Stay strong.

P.S. Check out this new video and article about the VFX that went into creating The Witcher. Both really good!

'The Witcher' Cast & Crew Check In: Self-Isolation Posts

Just like most of us, the cast and crew of The Witcher have been settling into self-isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This week several of them including Henry, checked in with fans on social media. Apparently, Henry has been spending part of his time baking... who knew Geralt had those skills!

A post shared by Henry Cavill (@henrycavill) on

Meanwhile, Freya Allan is dedicating some of her time at home to introducing her brother to The Chronicles of Narnia.

As for Jeremy Crawford... he's been brushing up on his Witcher knowledge.

We also heard from Lauren S. Hissrich and Tom Canton, with both sharing some funny posts.

Filming on The Witcher is currently on hold after actor Kristofer Hivju tested positive for the coronavirus. The Netflix series is set for a 2021 release.

'Nomis' Update, Superman Jokes With Shazam, WonderCon

A post shared by David Raymond (@stingrayed) on

It's been about a year since Henry finished filming Nomis, in which he plays a police officer (lieutenant?) involved in a dangerous investigation following the arrest of a troubled man.

Director David Raymond just finished reshoots in Winnipeg last month, and now he's shared this clip as he works on the post-production process.

No word yet on when or where we'll see the film, but as soon as the info is out we'll pass it on to you.

In the meantime fans are hoping for a Superman cameo in Shazam, now that the movie is filming in Toronto. And while there's been no official word or concrete evidence that will happen, Henry and Zachary Levi have been bro-ing it up on social media.

There is also proof that at the very least Superman has a presence in the film.

Supes will definitely be front and center at WonderCon later this month, as DC gets ready to mark his 80th birthday in April.

A panel will honor Superman on Friday, March 23:

Highlighted by the return of his trademark red trunks, Superman reaches an incredible milestone on his 80th anniversary April 18, as Action Comics, the book that introduced the superhero genre, hits an unprecedented 1000th issue! Join some of comics’ most talented writers and artists in a discussion of their favorite Superman moments, find out more details on the creative process behind this commemorative issue, and learn what surprises it has in store for fans of the Man of Steel!

Warner Bros. will also have its presentation on Saturday, March 24. We'll be in Anaheim to bring you coverage from WonderCon.

For those of you attending the SXSW Festival in Austin, there is likely some Justice League swag waiting for you, along with some cool pic opportunities.

Go Supes!

The Man From U.N.CL.E. Sequel Script "By The End Of The Year"

It's no secret that Armie Hammer has been campaigning for a sequel to The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

A few months ago he pretty much broke the internet, when he mentioned that the follow-up to the 2015 Warner Bros. film was in the works.

As he promoted 'Cars 3' on Good Morning America today, Armie shared an exciting update, saying that producer Lionel Wigram has told him he'll "have a script by the end of the year."

Watch Armie talk about it, and the fact that he's "basically living the dream of every 18-year-old girl" because he gets to work with Henry..  by clicking on the image below.

Thanks to @HenryCavill_HCF for the heads up.

Henry Offers His Condolences To Those In Mourning

Today Henry reached out with a message of encouragement and sympathy, following the deadly Manchester attack and news of Zack Snyder's family tragedy. Henry is currently in Paris, where he had been filming Mission: Impossible 6 until today. He will be headed to New Zealand next.

Hang On To Your Aprons! Solo May Be Back On The Big Screen

Warner Bros. Pictures

The Easter bunny aka Armie Hammer, has brought us the best treat of all this holiday weekend. While promoting his new film Free Fire, he also confirmed some exciting The Man from U.N.C.L.E. news to Slash Film.

"I called Lionel Wigram, the producer of the movie, and he and Guy produced it and wrote it all together. I was like, ‘Dude, what’s the deal? I get asked about this shit all the time. Can you just write a sequel?’ He was like, ‘You know what? Yeah, fuck it, I’ll do it. Sure, I’ll write a sequel.’ I was like, ‘If you write one, I’m sure we can get one made,’ so who knows? Today is the first day I’ve actually told anyone that story. I only told one other person who asked. Apparently, the sequel is being written right now. No pressure, Lionel!"

UPDATE (4/17) Collider was the other outlet Armie mentioned.

“I actually recently talked to Lionel Wigram, the producer and co-writer with Guy, about a Man from U.N.C.L.E. sequel, and I was like, ‘Dude if you don’t start writing this script I’m gonna show up at your house and cut all of the tires of all of your cars, I swear to God.’ And he was like, ‘You know what? Fuck it. I’m just gonna do it, I’ll probably start writing it,’ and I was like, ‘Yes! Good! Start writing it!’ So if you haven’t yet, Lionel, checkmate. Start writing it!”

Watch the video and read Collider's thoughts on a sequel actually happening.

Now we don't want to read too much into Armie's statements, because it takes A LOT to put a film together.. but please make it happen Guy Ritchie!

When we talked to Henry on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. red carpet in New York, he was more than up for it:

"We've now seen the birth of the origins Solo in a modern setting, and I'm looking very very forward to playing around with that.. and maybe seeing him in Istanbul."

You may remember the film ends, with the newly assembled U.N.C.L.E. team headed to Turkey. A script in the works is a great way to get that ball rolling again!

A big thanks to @GeekPride5 for the heads up.

JL Wrap: Will Superman Come Back Evil?, SM Buzz, VR News

Batman v Superman/Warner Bros. via +SergioEES

It's not like we weren't warned.

Now that it's clear we're not getting Supes in the Justice League promo anytime soon, the speculation on why that is has really taken off online.

To be honest, we just want Superman to be on the screen.. good or bad. But Zack Snyder actually giving us some more of what he teased in Batman v Superman sounds really intriguing. You know, as long as in the end Supes unites with the league which.. tagline. So it's all good!

And everyone is loving the buildup to the film's release..

We also got exciting news on the VR front.

Finally, if you're planning on snatching a Comic-Con ticket, make sure you're ready to go before they go on sale. Good luck everyone!

Henry Gains New Costar In 'Mission: Impossible 6'

The Mission: Impossible 6 cast announcements keep coming, as the reported filming start date of April 10th gets closer.

Today Variety exclusively broke the news that actress Sian Brooke will join Henry in the movie:

Brooke became well-known in the U.K. for her work on popular British television series such as “All About George” and “Cape Wrath.” Her recent stint as Holmes long lost sister on “Sherlock” caught the eyes of studio execs around town. Skydance and Paramount have been quick to land such rising stars as Brooke, as well as her co-star (Vanessa) Kirby after she broke out on “The Crown.”

Kirby shared the news with her fans this week.

Variety says Brooke landed a "key role" in M:I6, but did not elaborate further because not much is known about the plot.

Stay tuned for the very latest, as we follow this production from filming all the way to the big screen.

Potential 'MoS 2' Director, 'JL' Reportedly Coming To CinemaCon

"Henry Cavill sent me the signed pic instead of my cheap index cards!! What a class act!!"

Steve Dillard's infectious excitement, is a great way to kick off our latest DC wrap (sorry it took a bit, Nomis has kept us busy). First off, Collider is reporting that Matthew Vaughn is Warner Bros' top pick to direct Man of Steel 2.

Before Man of Steel came out, Vaughn (who already worked with Henry in Stardust) described what his version of Supes would be like:

“I think that’s the one thing not to do with Superman, trying to do the serious The Dark Knight version. Superman is about color and fun, or it should be, for me.”

It gives you an idea of where he could go if chosen for the directing job, especially if the studio is making a shift in tone for the DCEU. Read the rest over at Collider.

We're just over eight months away from the release of Justice League, and a new glimpse at the film is likely coming in the next few weeks.

We're not sure if Ben will be the only cast member at CinemaCon, but we'll keep you updated. WB's presentation of its upcoming slate is set for Wednesday, March 29.

Director Zack Snyder is in the middle of editing the film, and he's been sharing some really cool updates on his Vero account. You remember this Aquaman scene.. the photo below is how it actually went down.

And Batsy is getting some new guns for the Batmobile..

While Zack hasn't shared any recent Superman updates from Justice League, producer Charles Roven did remind fans during a new interview that Supes was always intended to be the bedrock of the DCEU. Read more below.

As we await his return, many of you guys have been sharing your autographed photos of Henry. Here's all the info you need to request your own. Have a great week everyone!
