Mission: Impossible Fallout #1 Again, NZ BTS, Gamers Rejoice



Mission: Impossible Fallout has done it again!



The film is #1 at the box office, with China yet to come (August 31).


Paramount Pictures has also given us a behind the scenes look at the stunts in New Zealand and it comes with some commentary from Henry...



New interviews from the M:I Fallout press tour are still coming in, so make sure you're checking our YouTube playlist where you can find most of them. In this one, Henry is asked how soon we could see #Kingstache make a return... don't hold your breath.





And this new interview is creating a lot of excitement in the gaming community...





There are even a few renditions of Henry as the character already out there...

UPDATE: And then there is this news... could we see Superman in this project? Deadline talks about that possibility.

'Batman v Superman' Box Office, 'Justice League' Update


Thaaat's right. Supes leaving his mark at the box office, with Batman v Superman still going strong in its fifth week in theaters. Scott Mendelson at Forbes has the highlights:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earned another $8.3 million overseas from 66 markets. Like in America, it had a slightly stronger hold (-47%) in its fifth weekend than it has in past frames. That brings the DC Comics sequel’s overseas cume to $532.1m as it winds down. The Ben Affleck/Henry Cavill/Gal Gadot blockbuster has earned $851.601m worldwide (..) that’s the seventh-biggest superhero movie ever behind Spider-Man 3, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and The Avengers. Regarding Warner Bros. releases, it’s the tenth-biggest WB movie ever worldwide.

While we wait for director Zack Snyder's extended cut to be released, we have a quick update on Justice League. It comes courtesy of J.K. Simmons, who will play Commissioner Gordon in the film. In an interview with DP/30 (via), Simmons says he won't start filming until June and talks briefly about his role. WATCH (at about 3:06).

It’s been announced that you’re going to be playing Commissioner Gordon in the DC cinematic universe. When you play a character like that, do you feel the need to read the comics and watch whatever previous versions of the character are out there, or do you personally prefer to stay away from all of that and find the character yourself?

SIMMONS: Well, to read the comics, yes, absolutely. I’m still a couple of months out from doing that and I have two other films before then, so I haven’t gotten started on that. Obviously, a lot of really wonderful actors have played that character previously, and most of them I saw at the time the movies came out, never imagining that I would be doing the same thing. So, I can’t say that I don’t have some impression of that character in my head that’s based on what I saw, but I’m not planning on going back and watching any of the other films. I’m just planning on learning as much as I can about him through the comics and getting my feet wet in the first movie, and then hopefully continuing on from there. I take this from my days doing theater. If I was doing a musical, I would never listen to the cast album because I wanted to do my version of something. I’m sure there will be differences and similarities with what Gary Oldman or Pat Hingle have done before, but I’m just going to try to do my take on it and be as informed as I can about the rich history of the Batman universe, going into it.

Having previously played a character in a comic book movie, with J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man films, and having had people love your work as that character, does it place any added pressure on you to take on another iconic comic book character?

 SIMMONS: There are easy comparisons to make. I wasn’t a big comic book reading kid, so I did a fair amount of reading when I was playing Jameson, who was very much the comic relief in those movies. Even in the comics, he was a blowhard who was all bark and very rarely bite. My understanding, from what I’ve learned so far about Commissioner Gordon, is that he’s the older guy with the mustache who relates with our hero in a certain way. Other than that, it’s a vastly different character and much more of a stronger, impactful character in the DC universe.

There is also an update from the Kent farm outside of Chicago, where it looks like things are once again getting prepped for filming later this year.


Jeff Frost shared this pic with the Superman Homepage, adding that "boards have been removed from the windows, and security guards are patrolling the location."

Can't wait to see how the Kent farm and Superman's mom play a role this time around, given how Batman v Superman ended. We know Supes will definitely be back, but what about Clark?..

Batman v Superman Reaches "Happy Number," WB Thanks Fans


Batman v Superman has hit $800M worldwide, a target that is reportedly making WB execs very happy today.

Deadline has a breakdown of the latest numbers, and the biggest international territories for the film. They also shared this statement from Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, President of Worldwide Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures:

“We want to thank our partners in exhibition for their unwavering support in delivering the film, day-and-date, to a record number of screens for a March corridor, further demonstrating our commitment to a 12-month strategy for films of every genre. We also want to thank fans around the world for sharing their passion for these characters and this story by heading to the theaters for Batman v Superman, and we congratulate the cast and filmmakers on the film’s ongoing success.”

As for the critics, Amy Adams has the perfect answer..

Batman v Superman VFX Pics, Dark & Moody Superman (Yes!), Weekend Box Office


The awesome filming bits from Batman v Superman are still coming in.

Today CGMeetup via @ConnorFilm, shared a video that details the VFX breakdown from some of the fight scenes in the film. MPC released the photos, as part of Guillaume Rocheron's interview with Art of VFX. It's a MUST READ that details the creation of Gotham, Doomsday, and how the fights went down:

"For CG scenes, we recorded the actors’ performances with a helmet mounted camera with tracking markers on their face. Dan Zelcs and his rigging team developed new tools and techniques allowing us to maximize the use of all the real world data we had captured. It was the key to not only make good looking digital characters, but to maintain the likeness to the actors at all time."

IGN also published a great interview today. They got a chance to talk to director Zack Snyder, about what some see as a key plot hole in Batman v Superman. If you thought Supes was dark, you're gonna want to hear what scene got cut from the movie (that we now really want to see in the director's version). CHECK IT OUT.

We don't know about you, but after learning all these cool details we're headed back to the theater to try and catch even more Easter eggs we might have missed ahead of next week's Justice League production start.

Batman v Superman is expected to come out on top this weekend at the box office, and Bloomberg has a breakdown on the latest numbers:

"Warner Bros. executives say they’re pleased with the performance of the film and wouldn’t have announced two more DC pictures this week if they weren’t. The movie is poised to become one of just 50 or so to cross $300 million at the domestic box office. Their boss, Time Warner Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bewkes, has said 2016 will be a turnaround year for the studio’s film division."

Batman v Superman Latest Numbers, Our Thanks To Zack Snyder




A day after Henry and Gal gave their thanks to fans for helping Batman v Superman rock the box office, there is more great news to share..



There is also more record-breaking numbers coming in from overseas..


Today set phtographer Clay Enos, came to the defense of the film on twitter. And we couldn't agree more with what he had to say..


And with Justice League about to start filming, you'll want to keep up with the Easter Eggs..






This was just funny. We miss Zod.. and even he sides with Supes.




Finally we want to send a huge shoutout to director Zack Snyder, who is now busy in London preparing to start filming Justice League. He not only gave us Henry as Supes, he's about to create a world we've never seen on screen before. We are very grateful for his awesome vision, his amazing energy, and we cannot wait to see what comes next. You have our full support.

'Man Of Steel' Soars To The Top Of The Box Office Worldwide

Man of Steel is officially a hit around the world. Final numbers are not in, but you can read the breakdown so far at The Hollywood Reporter.  The Wrap got reaction from several sources, including Warner Brothers:

“We already know a Superman sequel is in the works, but what fans truly crave is a Justice League of America movie,” Exhibitor Relations vice president and senior analyst Jeff Bock told TheWrap. “Well, thanks to Superman successfully rebooting, it's much closer to a reality now than ever before. Watch out, Avengers, the battle for spandex domination has just begun!”

The studio wasn’t talking specifics Sunday, but the potential was clear.

“The DC Comics brand is just great, and we have some options now,” Warner Bros.' head of distribution Dan Fellman told TheWrap Sunday. "We'll see how we can build on this, but we're in a good spot."

Warner Bros. stacked the deck for “Man of Steel.” It tapped "Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan to produce the film and "300" director Zack Snyder to handle the behind-the-camera work. It also assembled an impressive cast, with "The Tudors'" Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Superman's biological father and Michael Shannon as the illainous General Zod.

Warner Bros. has released these two spots highlighting the film's achievements. We're so happy for Henry! Variety echoing what we already know.. that Man of Steel is his ride to stardom. Check out their article. Let's get that sequel going ;)
