Henry Covers September Issue Of Men's Fitness Magazine

A huge thanks to SergioEES for the preview of the Men's Fitness September issue, that's set to hit newsstands in the next few weeks. This appears to be the U.S. version, so keep your eyes peeled for a different cover UK!

Justice League: Official Logo, Synopsis, Tons Of Details!


"Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions." 


There is A LOT to digest following the release of the details journalists learned, during their visit to the Justice League set outside of London. Start with the video from JoBlo.com, then make your way down the links from the different outlets. What stuck out to us? Supes will have longer hair, possible new costume (yes!), and will return later in the film (which we kind of figured).

But What About Superman?

Henry Cavill was not on the set the day we were there (which, again, was just this past Friday). The talking points on Superman were basically this: Yes, of course he’s coming back. No, we aren’t going to tell you how. When we were given a tour of the costume shop (all the costumes are made on site), Superman’s costume was suspiciously missing — which probably means there will be some sort of redesign they don’t want us to know about yet. -- uproxx.com



Superman may have “died” in the climactic battle of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice but like most comic book character deaths, that means little. The final scene of BvS clearly shows the dirt above his coffin defying gravity and as producer Deborah Snyder put it best when we visited the War Room of the production for Justice League, “obviously Superman is part of the Justice League.”

“And we know where we ended up with him,” she continues. “And there wouldn’t be a Justice League without Superman. But I think his way back to us we don’t want to really spoil that. But he’s here. He’s back there,” she finishes, pointing to a standee cardboard cutout of Henry Cavill suited up in the red and blue beside the other Justice League members.

Superman was entirely absent from the sets we visited, from the costume department, and mostly from the concept art as well for Justice League. According to producer Charles Roven and director Zack Snyder, Superman’s return and role in the film is part of the story and not something they want to spoil a year and half out from release. -- screenrant.com

The one character noticeably absent from everything that we saw on the Justice League set was Superman, and it was here that producer Deb Snyder and her husband, director Zack Snyder, played coy. As you all remember, Batman v Superman ended with the world mourning the death of Superman (Henry Cavill). But Snyder consciously ended his movie with a few pieces of dirt levitating off of Superman's coffin, indicating that the hero wouldn't stay dead for too long.

But for all of the storyboards we saw for Justice League, the bulk of the movie seemed to involve Batman and Wonder Woman recruiting three additional members of the team -- Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) -- and preparing for the arrival of a new threat. Superman wasn't part of any of these scenes, from what we were shown, though the team made it clear that he's absolutely part of the Justice League that they were forming.

When I specifically pressed Snyder on the mystery stance that they were taking regarding Superman, he explained:

I wanted to get to a Superman [in Dawn of Justice] who has a reason to be Superman. A reason to feel the way he felt about humanity, or feel the way that we all understand about him from the comic books. He's pretty -- as far as a moral compass goes, he's pretty [much] the thing. But I feel like he had to go through something to be that. And I'm not saying he shows up in this movie... [Laughs] There's a process, clearly, that would have to go on in the... I feel like the idea is to -- that's part of the story. If he does appear, I think that would be a big part of the story, right? Like, how you bring him back. -- cinemablend.com


 Justice League is now also described as a standalone film (though Zack Snyder stresses that a second one is still on the schedule for June 14, 2019). READ ON..


















I brought up the same question earlier in the day to Deborah Snyder, who told me that Bruce Wayne has renewed his faith in humanity after seeing Superman’s sacrifice.

“I think Superman’s death made such a strong effect on Batman that I think he really regains faith in humanity and everything that’s good, because here’s this alien that just gave his life, really, for us,” she said. “And I think this really changes who Batman is, and I think he really feels responsibility to honor him, because he didn’t feel like he did it while he was living, so I think you really are seeing the elevation of these heroes.”





And apparently there is more on the way.. makes you wonder what they have planned for Comic-Con!

Justice League is filming in London until September and after they wrap there they go to Los Angeles and another still to be determined location. Filming is currently scheduled to wrap in October.

'Justice League' Watch: Fan Pic Reveals Super Beard Is Gone

And with this pic, Linda confirms what we warned you about a few days ago: Don't get too attached to the Super beard!

She met Kal and a clean-shaven Henry this afternoon in London, which likely means..








Some may need a little time to adjust..





But in the end we're all just REALLY READY for Henry to start filming Justice League.. like NOW. Especially after seeing the latest pic Supes just shared on IG and Facebook.

Batman v Superman: Highest Pre-Summer Record Of All Time



Henry said it: "The audience voice is the loudest," and fans are showing their love for Batman v Superman!

Deadline:

After beating all superhero Thursday night previews outside of The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is poised to outstrip the opening for The Hunger Games ($152.5M) to become the highest pre-summer debut of all-time with $157M-$170M. Forget aboutFurious 7‘s records. BvS is set to take best March and Easter opening, as well as best opening day prior to May, which rival industry estimates have between $76M-$80M. Imax, RealD, 4DX are all drivers for BvS biz.

The film is also a huge hit at the International box office -->> LATEST numbers.

UPDATE 3/26:

"... Cash is finally raining on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, CA as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to post the biggest pre-summer opening day ($82M, beating Furious 7‘s $67.4M) and weekend ($170M, outstripping The Hunger Games’ $152.5M). Heck, BvS is poised to be Warner Bros. best opening of all-time, beating Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 ($169.2M), and even The Dark Knight Rises ($160.9M) and The Dark Knight ($158.4M). In 4,242 theaters, BvS is the widest pre-May release and new record-holder for top March and Easter debuts. Reported yesterday: Flash grosses show BvS winning over China with $21.2M. Add that to the two-day $44M tally and the pic’s foreign cume is north of $65M." via Deadline.

 It couldn't have happened to a better Supes, and his friends and family have been cheering for him.

Super Bowl Sunday Surprise?, 'Batman v Superman' On GMA

Our guys getting a little closer in this updated Batman v Superman banner.


Well, well, well, look who is reminding us what this Super Bowl Sunday is *really* all about..


While Warner Brothers reportedly didn't buy any ad spots for the big game, we have a sneaky suspicion by the end of it we will have seen some new footage. Still on the fence?

On Friday, Alberta Film Ratings (Canada) released its classification of a new trailer that runs 2 minutes and 12 seconds long. That normally happens days before its release, so fingers crossed we get it today.

At the very least, it looks like some cool promo is on the way. Stay tuned.





There is also exciting news from New York!


Good Morning America is planning a huge Batman v Superman event for February 15, and some very lucky fans will get to be there. Tickets are already sold out, but look for updates as we get them. UPDATE: Fans attending say they got an email stating this event has been canceled.

#WhoWillWin? - Tweet Your Heart Out For Supes!


The day has come!

We've been waiting for these babies, since we saw The Force Awakens use their version during promotion.

Director Zack Snyder just debuted the new Batman v Superman emojis, as part of the film's #WhoWillWin promotional push.


The short clip also gave us a better view of Superman's out of this world strength..


And then came the poster!



Yes, we know Supes doesn't exactly look like Henry, but we're still loving all the hype. And things are sure to get more exciting as the release date gets closer. WAIT JUST A SECOND. Is that a "2" like someone commented on his forehead?!... or is it an "R" like @Warrior_Diana says?

Oooooooh. Maybe it's Definitely intentional.

But you got our attention now, WB.

Henry On Superman: "Wonderfully Rich" & "Enjoyable To Play"

Behind the scenes of Batman v Superman via Total Film

Cineplex just came out with its guide of the Must See Movies of 2016, and of course Batman v Superman had to be in there. But the really exciting part, is that the article includes a new interview with Henry. In it he talks about the criticism against Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and playing Supes: 

Cavill is good-natured about his first Superman movie’s lukewarm reviews as he reveals what little he’s allowed to about the expansive second chapter.“The reception of my first Superman movie, from what I’ve read, was fairly mixed,” the English actor says via phone from New York. 

“Everyone I’ve spoken to enjoyed the movie, but [not] unlike if you’re going to meet a stranger in the street, they’re not going to badmouth you to your face. There’s no intentional move, I don’t think, in Batman v. Superman to address any issues that people had with Man of Steel. It’s just a continuation of that storyline and they continue to develop that world and introduce new characters.”

Cavill adds that, perhaps more than world-building, he’s excited to explore new aspects of his brooding, conflicted, Earth-saving alien.“I think maybe people may look down on some popular-culture stuff, but they’re actually very complicated and interesting characters,” he says.

“Superman especially, he’s just wonderfully rich and one of those things, for me, that’s just enjoyable to play. There’s so far you can go with it; if you really, really delve deep into the character, there’s so much you can do. It’s just about exploring it within the vehicles and finding what you want to do. He’s going to have some very interesting character development in this one.”


It's interesting to note the interview was reportedly conducted while Henry was in New York. So we're not sure if it was done when he was there promoting The Man from U.N.C.L.E. last summer (and was embargoed until now), or if he's been there recently perhaps doing more press ahead of the Batman v Superman release. Either way, the promotional floodgates have opened, and you can expect to see him on magazine covers and making tons of TV appearances soon. And we'll be here to bring it all to you!

Official 'Batman v Superman' Merchandise On Sale, 2016 Buzz!


Just a few hours into the new year, and we're already off to a great start!

Warner Brothers kicked off 2016 by unveiling its official Batman v Superman merchandise, that is now for sale at their shop. Check out the new items, but we warn you..  it won't be easy deciding what to get. There is also new stuff over at merchoid.com.

The Today Show kept the buzz going, by giving a shoutout to Henry as it previewed the film.


And Variety and other media outlets, are just as excited as we are about Batman v Superman..



Games Radar lists Batman v Superman among its "Best New Movies of 2016:"

The film: Batman and Superman together in one film... and they're not even on the same side! Zack Snyder follows up his first entry into the DC Cinematic Universe with a superhero smackdown starring Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman. The pair are at loggerheads, Lex Luthor is greasing them up for a scrap, and then Doomsday arrives on the scene. The duo might not be pals to begin with but, as we've seen in the trailer, they'll have to put their differences aside if that dawn is to arrive.

Most exciting element: Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, fighting together side-by-side. Doesn't get much more goosebump-inducing than that.
Entertainment Weekly also features the Trinity in its latest issue.

Batman v Superman: New Footage, Super Cereal, More


Sure, it's just a few seconds of new Supes footage.. but enough to get this holiday week off to a great start!

Check out Mr. Speed at about :24 in this new German Batman v Superman TV spot.




Apparently you can also now pre-order tickets there, and the movie site lists the running time as 2 GLORIOUS hours and 31 minutes. Keep in mind nothing is official, but that sounds about right to us. And get this, Batman's BFF Matt Damon just told Variety Ben already saw a cut of the film:

And I hear [“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”] is good. I haven’t seen it yet but he’s seen a rough cut and I think he’s very pleased.

If Ben saw it, we're now wondering if Supes did as well! #jealous.

You probably heard Batman v Superman is coming to your breakfast table..


And comedian Kevin Smith says he's ready!



Try to get that mental picture out of your head..

Finally, Lex Luthor is not letting Supes and Bats steal his evil thunder. Just as new individual posters for them were released, Lex gave a revealing interview to Wired Magazine. What can we say, he's up to no good:

We should all be careful when we elevate anyone, human or alien, to “super” status.

Batman v Superman Wrap: Variant Covers, Details On Henry's Suit, His Interview With Close Up Magazine



How cool are these??

As the release of Batman v Superman gets closer (a little bit more than three months to go!) the promotion for the film is starting to intensify.


Not only that, we also got a new promo clip from the official Batman v Superman site..


And this is something you don't want to miss, costume designer Michael Wilkinson was in Brazil promoting Batman v Superman a few days ago, and he shared some really cool details about Henry's costume..

Omelete: Is the Superman costume the same one from Man of Steel?

MW: It’s a little bit different. The amazing thing about working on these big franchise films is that everytime you do another, you get to make the costumes even more compelling and more exciting. The one thing I love about my job is that we get to explore new costume technologies and new ways of making costumes. Two years later, there’s new materials, new digital technologies. We use a lot of 3D printing and we scan our actors and we build costumes in the computer.



MW: So, with the Superman costume, we have a new material. The suit is a little bit more sheer, so you really get the sense of this metal undersuit coming through the blue oversuit and we have a new fabric for the cape. And, also, Zack wanted to include a Joseph Campbell quote in the suit, so there’s a quote from Joseph Campbell: ‘Where we thought to stand alone, we will be with all the world‘ and we decided to translate that into Kryptonian and we put it through the ‘S’ on his chest, through his cuffs, his belt, through his bicep, just to give a little extra something for the fan with very sharp vision to appreciate.


Wilkinson went on to talk about the production time for Justice League in London: It will shoot for six months, with about six months of prep work (so basically Henry will be busy as Supes all of 2016). The costume designer also confirmed some spoilery details about Batman v Superman, so watch his interview (at about 49:55) or read the details here. 






Finally, Close Up magazine (UK) has shared their Q&A with Henry (apparently conducted during the press tour for The Man from U.N.C.L.E.). We've shared some of the quotes before, since it appears to have been a roundtable interview, but make sure to give it a read.

Supes Looking Fierce In New 'Batman v Superman' Teaser

It's heeeere!

The Gotham fall finale delivered a new teaser from Batman v Superman. Check it out.


The clip gave us a peek at a new trailer that will be released Wednesday, on Jimmy Kimmel Live.


Here's a bit of what the Hollywood trades had to say..

USA Today:

The short clip is literally a staring contest between Batman and Superman (who apparently thinks masks are silly). Everyone's super serious about the whole affair, too (..) But don't worry, you'll get to see more of these incredible brooding stares on Wednesday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, because apparently that's where nerd things happen on television now.

Deadline:

We’ll save a fuller reaction for then, but it’s worth noting, since everyone on social media is talking about it, that this is probably not the film’s actual portrayal of Superman. My guess is that we just saw a paranoid nightmare Batman has about a world ruled by Superman.

 Dream sequence or not, we can't wait to see the full trailer. We're staying on top of the very latest for you, as we count down to March 25, 2016.

New 'Batman v Superman' Footage To Air Monday During Gotham


Angry Supes is what we live for!

Fox has confirmed the news we've been waiting to hear.. new Batman v Superman footage is coming on Monday. The sneak peek will air during Gotham's mid-season finale, and you know Supes is gonna BRING IT.


We'll post the new clip as soon as it's up. The countdown starts now!

P.S. Check out the new image of a fierce Supes on a Batman v Superman companion novel being released in February. Batman-news.com came across it on Amazon today.


The pic of Batman is also new, and the book will include new images from the film. You can pre-order it now.

Justice League Filming In The UK, Not Being Shot Back To Back



It's a busy news day with our first clip from the special features in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Blu-ray, and new pics of Henry attending an event in China. But we also have huge news on the Supes front courtesy of Steve Weintraub at Collider, who confirmed with producer Charles Roven that Justice League will film in the UK and not back to back with Part 2!

"We’re making most of Wonder Woman [in the U.K.] and we’re also making most of Justice League there, JL One… We’re definitely gonna be shooting Part One in the first or second quarter of next year.”
