'The Witcher' Panel At MCM London Comic Con

The Witcher fans attending MCM London Comic Con today, were treated to a special panel with Freya Allan and executive producer Lauren S. Hissrich. Here's a quick recap of what fans saw and what was discussed. Next up: A brand new trailer at Lucca Comics & Games next week!

@TheRockFairy broke down for us the three clips shown during the panel with additional details (thank you so much). The first two scenes were shown at SDCC, the third one was new. Fair warning, they are spoilery:

1st clip: Scene in a great hall in a palace? The Queen of Cintra (I think) orders 'kill them both' to Geralt and another guy, epic sword fighting ensues against palace guard, real good action. Geralt and friend kicking ass, The Queen gets up, snatches a sword and fights, scene cuts when hers and Geralt's swords clash and have a tense gaze at each other. Lauren says there's a lot of action, Henry did all his own stunts, sometimes to their dismay/worry, but he insisted. The clip is from a scene that took 5 days to shoot.

2nd clip shows Yennefer on a beach talking to a dead baby, saying how the world is cruel, it doesn't matter how special people say you are (I think to reference own previous appearances) the rest of world pushes you down. I don't think it's her child, as she says 'maybe your mother was right'. It's a very emotional scene, ends with Yennefer burying the baby on the beach. - Lauren said these emotional scenes are important to build the world, and balance the action, violence and sex (!!) Its was shot in Gran Canaria, and for the longest time. It had a banner for VFX saying 'make baby dead'. Basically, they used a sleeping real baby and the note was to tell VFX to make it look dead. Then she described how to make a real baby look dead with VFX, lol.

3rd clip This one focuses on Ciri walking through a snowy forest, looking disheveled and cold. She comes across a silent guy, who Lauren says is a new character not from the book, called Daro. he helps Ciri by offering her some dead barbecued rat, she looks in disgust but takes it, she says she's been wandering from three days. - Freya says a lot of her scenes were in the snow/dark or rain lol. Lauren said she introduced Daro, as it was originally just Ciri walking in the forest not talking to anyone which would've been boring. Freya says that Daro is an integral part of Ciri's story in the series, as they are from parallel worlds but have a joint understanding of loss and loneliness.

The Witcher had a photo booth where fans could battle one of the monsters from the Netflix series.

Fans were asked to share their experience, for a chance to win tickets to The Witcher London premiere on December 16. We're still waiting for official word on a release date for the show but as more details come in about the promotional tour, we'll keep updating you!

Throwback To Comic-Con 2016: We See You Supes!

We remember this day, Henry and the Justice League cast had just previewed the film (after Henry pulled off this epic stunt) at Comic-Con 2016, and they were on their way out of San Diego. Gal posted a similar photo on her Instagram then, but all you could see was Henry's arm gun... now director Zack Snyder has shared a wider pic!

If you don't follow him on Vero you're missing out on some really great behind the scenes and iconic throwback pics with Henry and the rest of the DC crew.

Thanks for everything Zack. Look forward to seeing what Warner Brothers has planned for fans this year!

Comic-Con Preview: Schedule Begins Taking Shape

As we impatiently wait for Comic-Con weekend to arrive, the news has slowly started trickling in on what DC & Warner Bros. have planned for fans attending the annual event in San Diego.

Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman are now confirmed to be there, and who knows what Justice League surprises await!

In 2013 it was Superman's time to shine, as Henry represented the icon at his 75th birthday celebration at the con (watch our exclusive coverage). Now it's Wonder Woman's turn.

People magazine has revealed some of what's on the way:

To mark Princess Diana's new duds, DC and Mattel will be releasing a special-edition Barbie – complete with gold-lamé-festooned cape – exclusively at Comic-Con in San Diego this July, where fans can check out costumes from the upcoming Wonder Woman film and attend a 75th anniversary panel talk.

Just like Henry did for Superman in 2013, Gal will likely be in attendance for the Wonder Woman panel talk in addition to the film's Hall H presentation (that has yet to be announced).

The invisible jet will also make an appearance per The Hollywood Reporter.

Attendees to this year's San Diego Comic-Con can expect to see the unseeable — kind of. Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment will be bringing a life-size replica of Wonder Woman's iconic invisible jet to the annual pop culture display as part of a yearlong celebration of the 75th anniversary of the character's creation.

The invisible jet — which will illuminate at night — will be accompanied by a series of one-off Wonder Woman-inspired graffiti artworks..

And that's not all..

Suicide Squad will have a heavy presence in San Diego ahead of its August 5th release.

BUST INTO BELLE REVE!

Every day of the Con, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., have an immersive “Suicide Squad” experience when we transform 6000 square feet of San Diego’s Hard Rock Hotel into the infamous Belle Reve penitentiary—the very place where the “worst of the worst” were incarcerated before forming the Suicide Squad.

Take part in a live-action virtual reality experience, fighting alongside Squad members in a scene from the film.

Get your own “Suicide Squad” skull “ink” at Harley Quinn’s tattoo parlor.
Take photo ops in a re-creation of one of Belle Reve’s jail cells.

GET UP CLOSE WITH THE “SUICIDE SQUAD”

Catch “Suicide Squad” talent as part of the big Warner Bros. Pictures’ exclusive presentation in Hall H, additional details of which are forthcoming, and connect with them directly at the DC booth, where stars of the film will meet fans and sign movie posters.

The cast will also make a special ensemble appearance on Saturday, July 23 to tape “CONAN,” which will air that evening at 11 p.m. ET/PT on TBS.

UPDATE: Funko just released a first look at this Pop! Movies: Batman v Superman - Superman (False God variant) that will also be available at SDCC.

The cool collectibles are always a big draw, and we're pretty sure this awesome Aquaman based on Jason Momoa's portrayal of the character will be a top get (along with Barbie's Wonder Woman mentioned above).

Press release:

Straight from the ocean (and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), where he controls the water and animals alike, comes the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Aquaman Patina Pop! Vinyl Figure – Entertainment Earth Convention Exclusive!

Aquaman has had many names throughout his life – Orin, Arthur Curry, and the King of the Seven Seas, to name a few – as well as appearances, but one thing remains consistent: his regal standing as King of Atlantis.

And this exclusive figure certainly is regal!

Based on the character’s new portrayal by Jason Momoa, Funko’s 4-inch tall vinyl figure gets a patina makeover.

Don’t know what patina is? Think Statue of Liberty. Patina is a thin layer that appears on certain metals and stones, giving both the famed New York statue and this figure their bronze, green, and blue hues.

Available for the first time on July 20, 2016, at the Entertainment Earth booth #2343 at San Diego Comic-Con, fans will have the first opportunity to grab this exclusive!

Not attending San Diego Comic-Con 2016? *PRE-ORDER at Entertainment Earth now!

*NOTE: This item will first be sold during San Diego Comic-Con 2016 at the Entertainment Earth Booth #2343. If supplies remain after the show, pre-orders will be filled and shipped to you then – in August 2016.

Look for updates as we get them. We'll be in San Diego to bring you coverage on everything DC Cinematic Universe, and we hope Justice League will be in the mix.

 Go Supes!

Fans Meet Henry In San Diego Post Comic-Con Appearances

Leann Jones was lucky enough to meet Henry in San Diego last night. And even after a busy day of several Comic-Con appearances, he was a total gent and posed for a photo (just like with this other fan). You're the man, Henry Cavill.

Amanda Powell Riggan met Henry today. She sent us her photo, telling us: "such a very nice guy, made my weekend." -- We're so glad you got to meet him! - Thank you for sharing your pic.

UPDATE 7/15: Hilary M Gregoire has shared her sweet story with us, after she got these pics:

We met Henry Sunday in San Diego while eating at the beach! -- My daughter ran up to him and asked if he was Superman. He laughed and said yes, had to apologize for her, he was so nice! took a pic with her and then with me!

Elmira and Jonathan also ran into Henry. Hopefully he's getting to enjoy San Diego before he heads home.

Henry Cavill Sporting A 'Greyish' Look For Comic-Con: Exclusive Pictures

It's funny how things turn out. Back in 2011, we were down at Comic-Con when this hunk of a man walked on stage. Sure, we'd been following Henry's career and were fans, but to see him command that stage was something else. It was Henry's first time at Comic-Con, and you could see he was pumped to be there. Anyway, here we are almost two years later with Henry about to become the Man of Steel on the big screen, and rumors swirling around of a very different kind of project that reminded us of his first appearance in San Diego.

After finally reading Fifty Shades of Grey and the buzz surrounding his possible casting, it was this line in the book that made us think of those pics.

"He’s wearing a white shirt, open at the collar, and grey flannel pants that hang from his hips"

Just like that, we were back in Hall H, watching Henry capture everyone's attention, as he strolled up to take his seat for the Immortals Q&A. It was really THAT obvious. We'd thought we'd share these never-before-seen exclusive pictures from that day with you. We hope you enjoy them, and know that there's much more to come!
