'M:I Fallout' Out On Blu-ray, Making Top 2018 Lists, Awards

Mission: Impossible Fallout is out on Blu-ray today!

There is a lot to look forward to, including some awesome behind the scenes and cool details you might have missed in the film itself. Did you catch Walker's quick appearance in the video Ethan watched at the beginning of M:I Fallout? Now you can watch it over and over again.

Bleeding Cool shared an exclusive BTS peek at some of the dangerous stunts in the film.

CHECK IT OUT.

 Paramount Pictures

Mission: Impossible Fallout has also landed on several top lists of 2018 (with more to come).

Variety:

"There are moments in Christopher McQuarrie’s cracklingly fun spectacular when series star Tom Cruise seems hell-bent on killing himself. He did, in fact, break an ankle while filming one of Fallout’s rollicking sequences, a testament to his go-for-broke commitment to this franchise. The Mission: Impossible movies have always been a good time, but Fallout is the first of them to fully utilize the potential of film physics. Whirling high above the mountains of Kashmir in a helicopter and zipping through Paris in one of the new century’s greatest chase scenes, Cruise’s Ethan Hunt is an agent of masterfully controlled chaos, the embodiment of action, finally loosed, regarded with both awe and fear. The best action movie since Mad Max: Fury Road, Fallout may be the sixth installment in the M:I series—but in all its grand escalation, it runs like brand new."

Indiewire (at about 9:30): This one is particularly fun because... Lady Gaga. Just watch.

THE 25 BEST FILMS OF 2018: A VIDEO COUNTDOWN from david ehrlich on Vimeo.

EW:

"In a year when superheroes ruled the box office, the best of the bunch didn’t wear spandex. In his sixth outing as the ageless IMF ringleader Ethan Hunt, Tom Cruise gave a master class in the still-thrilling possibilities of the summer blockbuster. He’s become a skydiving, cliff-hanging, bathroom-brawling antidote to franchise fatigue. Thanks to Cruise and his insatiable, top-this daredevil ethos, Mission: Impossible has become the rare (the only?) series that somehow manages to get better, twistier, and more deliriously fun with each installment."

Finally, M:I Fallout is being recognized by The Los Angeles Online Film Critics. The movie is nominated for Best Blockbuster, Best Visual Effects, Best Stunt Work and Best Action Film. The awards ceremony is set for January 9th. UPDATE (12/7): The film won Best Action Film and Best Stunt Work.

This has been one heck of a year for Henry... and with Nomis and The Witcher on the way, 2019 is looking bright!

Here is a list of the retailers carrying the Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition as of today.

Henry Teases 'Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition' BTS Footage

Supes being his funny self today, as he shared this really cool shot from the set of Batman v Superman in Detroit. But Henry is not joking about the behind the scenes included in the Ultimate Edition. We had a chance to watch the special features, and we promise it's two hours worth of awesomeness on top of the 30 extra minutes in the film.

The Blu-ray is set for release July 19 in the U.S. -- The UK gets it August 1.

BvS: Behind The Scenes, Zack Attack, Easter Eggs

The digital version of the extended Batman v Superman cut may be out in the U.S., but the Blu-ray is still a few weeks away (with the special features we can't wait to watch). So the promo push for it continues, with some cool treats from those involved in making the movie. Clay Enos shared this new photo from the set, while Dolby posted a really neat clip with director Zack Snyder.

Oh, and then there are the memes.

Just search the hashtag and you'll know what we're talking about. And apparently the boss knows about it ;)

Today cinematographer Larry Fong also shared a behind the scenes pic from the Batman v Superman set in Pontiac, Michigan.

A photo posted by Larry Fong, ASC (@unclewow) on

The Ultimate Edition includes some great Easter eggs, that Screen Rant breaks down in their post below. Just keep in mind it's VERY spoilerish if you haven't watched it yet.

Finally, Dan Wallace who also worked on the film, has posted a much better look at this promotional newspaper. If you're a geek like us, you'll want to read it all!

Much more to come, with Comic-Con now only THREE WEEKS AWAY.

Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition: Extended Clip, BTS, Review

The Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition is out today on digital HD, ahead of its release on Blu-ray July 19. And you can watch the first ten minutes (video is not available anymore) of it via Fandango's extended clip (see if you can catch the new scenes in there). Today Warner Bros. also released a behind the scenes clip included in the special features, which shows you how the Batcave was made.

We got a chance to check out the Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition on the big screen last night, at one of the two special screenings in Los Angeles (Thank you Anne and Stuart). And the fans we talked to, were super excited to be there.

The 30 extra minutes in the "BvS: Director's Cut" are all good scenes. They add context, humor, action, and clear up some misconceptions we might have had about a few of the characters including Superman. You do see a lot more of Henry, as both Supes and Clark. The extended scenes also give a better flow to the film, providing some key answers, but also raising a few others (who paid for Clark's funeral?). Be on the lookout for some cool cameos at the end, and some additional touching moments between Clark and his mom and dad. You'll also get more of his relationship with Lois. We really liked the theatrical cut, and this version is even better. Feel free to leave your thoughts below, we'll continue this conversation when the Blu-ray comes out!

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Out On Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital HD Today

We're kicking off the week, by celebrating today's UK release of the The Man from U.N.C.L.E. on Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD. And we have some exclusive clips to share with you, courtesy of Warner Brothers.

Here are some of our favorite ones, you can watch the rest on our playlist.

Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer are two of the biggest rising stars in Hollywood, both known for playing action heroes and performing daring deeds with some risky stunts. But now it’s time to find out who is the most daring dude of all. In support of the home entertainment release of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. which is available on Digital HD, Blu-ray™ and DVD today, we pit the two stars against each other in their most well known (and not so well known) roles for this ultimate hero-off.

THE SUPERHERO:

Superman vs The Lone Ranger

The Lone Ranger has skills a-plenty such as his excellent prowess on a horse, plus he sure knows how to wield a gun. But, The Lone Ranger is not so lonely, as he has help from a Comanche Native American called Tonto, which means he’s lying about his title; not very hero-esque.

Superman has his own super-human powers and can deflect bullets, he also has super human strength. He can throw cars around like they’re confetti! The actor worked hard to bulk out for the role so Henry gets super points for sheer dedication alone.

They equal each other in their ambitions for good and doing what’s right, using their skills only in defense, so that’s plus points on both sides. And, although The Lone Ranger may be a hero, he needs weapons and help unlike Superman who is practically a weapon himself, he is known as the ‘Man of Steel.’ Ultimately, Superman aka Henry Cavill has to win. He is Superman after all!

Score: Henry 1- Armie 0

THE ROYALS:

The Tudors vs Mirror Mirror

Henry Cavill plays an English nobleman, The Duke of Suffolk, in hit TV series The Tudors. He is cunning and smart, strong and scheming with a political penchant. With his wits and status, he rises amongst the ranks and earns land and power. Proving sometimes brains are better than brawn when it comes to heroism.

This said, Armie plays a Prince in Mirror Mirror which in hierarchal terms outranks a Duke and he stands at a princely height of 6’5”. Sorry Henry. And although Armie’s Prince Alcott is easily fooled by Queen Clementianna and is tricked into drinking a ‘Puppy Love’ potion which makes him googly eyed for a pooch, the all-American boy still outranks Henry who actually angers King Henry VIII after marrying his sister.

Score: Henry 1 – Armie 1

THE INTELLECTS:

Immortals vs The Social Network

In Immortals Henry plays Theseus, a demigod, son of Aethra by two fathers: Aegeus and Poseidon (God of the Sea)Things must get #awkward at family gatherings. The 6ft tall demigod knows how to yield a sword too.

Armie Hammer plays the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network. The characters are incredibly intelligent and arguably have super human intelligence, attending one of the most prestigious universities in the world. But, demigod vs two humans? Sorry Armiea demigod beats any number of humans even with incredible intellect so Theseus/Henry wins this one

Score: Henry 2- Armie 1

THE THRILLERS:

The Cold Light of Day vs Blackout

In The Cold Light of Day Henry Cavill is a young businessman who flies to Spain for a family holiday on board their boat. He returns to the boat one day and finds his family is gone and will be killed if he does not deliver a missing briefcase. Fights, car chases and action ensues as Henry unwittingly takes on the role of ‘spy’ and battles to save his family.

Ladies' man Tommy (Armie Hammer) gets stuck in a malfunctioning elevator in scary thriller Blackout. He rocks some serious neck tattoo and looks like a rock’n’roll, hell raising bad boy in this flick, which is a far cry from any previous boy next door type role he’s played before. It’s a shame he didn’t pull out his real-life guitar skills to woo his women but his luck with the ladies could rival any international super spy, so looks like Armie wins this one.

Score: Henry 2 – Armie 2

THE EARLY STUFF

The Count of Monte Cristo vs Veronica Mars

They both started their careers worlds apart, Henry Cavill in a period film alongside Guy Pearce and Richard Harris. Henry Cavill stars as a Viscount Albert Mondego in The Count of Monte Cristo whilst Armie Hammer plays a sports jock in Veronica Mars, which in many American High Schools is actually considered to be a hero.

Mondego is a 19th century aristocrat who ends up entwined in revenge plots and duels with sensational sword fights afoot. This may not be a fair fight, as it’s a competition between a classic literary hero and a modern pop-culture one, yet Cavill seems to be winning this one. Even if we are just biased towards his incomparable British charm.

Score: Henry 3 – Armie 2

AND FINALLY... THE ULTIMATE BATTLE:

THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

Napoleon Solo vs Illya Kuryakin

From the very beginning of their careers, now to their most recent action outbreak; these two super sleuths come almost neck and neck in the ultimate hero stakes.

Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) is the suave American spy who always keeps his cool, versus Illya Kuryakin the Russian weapon who is ready to go off at any point. Solo is urbane, self-assured, sociable and charming. Kuryakin, on the other hand, is reserved, intellectual, and intense. It’s a tough call as Armie does do a lot of his own stunt work but based on Solo’s cool, calm demeanour and charm, Henry wins in the final hero-off.

Score: Henry 4 – Armie 2

AND THE WINNER IS... HENRY CAVILL (we may be a bit biased).
