Report Claims Henry's Return As Supes May Be At Risk

Just as we were getting over the fact that Henry won't be returning to The Witcher after Season 3, there is now a new report that claims his return as Superman may not happen after all.... WHAAAT??!

Read the details at The Hollywood Reporter and then let's wait for official word on what the new DC film bosses have planned (with one of those squishy stress balls in hand).

Look for the latest news on everything Superman as we get it.

UPDATE: Here's what James Gunn had to say about the new report...

  1. I'd love him to have success with superman (and I know he wanted it) but on the other hand I wouldn't want him to typecasted in that role. See what happened with most marvel actors? Henry has been great in the Tudors, the Witcher (despite Lauren's atrocious script), Mi:6, Enola Holmes and other roles. His talent is finally recognized. I can't wait for his film with Matthew Vaughn and his upcoming wwii spy movie with Guy Ritchie and I'd love him to work again with Chris Mcquaire.

  3. When I heard that Henry was returning to Superman I was concerned about something like this. DC has zero trust, their attempts to copy Marvel have been such a mess. I'd hate for Henry to get screwed out of another role.

However, he doesn't seem short of work, and like the commenter above said, its nice to see a variety of characters as opposed to Henry only being known for one thing. The most important thing is that he's happy with the projects he's working on.

  4. Maybe if superman doesn't happen :( he'll have the time to do the highlander reboot and the Rosie project among his other projects.
    P. S. I sympathize with people who wanted him as superman but I'm still mourning the loss of Geralt. He was born for that role. Damn you Lauren.
    P. S. 2 with the way these companies operate and projects, even those who are announced, are canceled maybe there is hope s4 of twn will get canceled :)

    1. I'm with you, I will never get over loosing Henry as Geralt bc of Lauren's ego and her rewriting a masterpiece. Hope it fails without him (which is pretty much certain if we consider what she already did in s2, to BO and what she'll do to the rats! I doubt there will be a person interested in her horrible writing and treatment of sapko's the Witcher) and she'll never get another job and destroy another beloved property. As for Henry, I wish him all the best, he's the nicest person in Hollywood with integrity and true passion. Hope many successful project in his future and collaborations with talented directors.

    2. He'll always be the best Geralt, no matter where the Netflix show goes, and no amount of stupid shenanigans will ever convince me otherwise. I hope he's able to get Superman off the ground (no pun intended), but Geralt's the one for me. At least we got 3 seasons.

    3. You are right. He will always be THE live action Geralt. The fact that not even big paid sites say anything positive about the recast says everything. Book fans, game fans and casual fans all agree on one thing: that he was the best part of the show. Let's enjoy his final season in which he'll be phenomenal. And with the direction the show is heading even if it doesn't get canceled immediately it will be always remembered as a joke. They learned nothing from GOT s8. In fact, Henry leaving now before it fails will only benefit him, he'll forever get the credit for the success.

  5. He has argyle with an all star cast, the Guy Richie movie, possibly highlander, the Rosie project and that are all we know so far. He'll do great. But bc I'm a bad person I hope The Witcher gets cancelled once he is done.

    1. I'd LOVE to see Henry in a knives out 3 and in more enola films. He's simply marvelous in such roles and he has a great comedic timing as the outtakes of the drunk scene in Enola proved. And I totally agree on the last part. Let it burned into the ground after what they did.
