How Jealous Are You Right Now? Fan Shares Pic With Henry

A fan shared this recent HOT pic with Henry's unofficial FB page. There are no words..

Henry's Home Island Celebrates Him With Commemorative Stamps

Henry's home island of Jersey is so proud of him and his role in Man of Steel, that they are issuing a set of commemorative stamps. According to Isle News they'll come with plenty of extras, including an introduction by Henry!

Jersey Post has produced a series of stamps and collectables to celebrate the release of Man of Steel starring Jerseyman Henry Cavill in the lead role.

The set is unique in many respects and is the first to be issued in Jersey to coincide with the release of a major new movie.

The stamps feature a number of innovative print techniques, each paying tribute to the Man of Steel’s super powers and brought together for the first time in one issue. To support the release of the stamps, which go on sale today, a dedicated sales website www.jerseypoststamps.com/manofsteel has been developed, which also features information about the film, the stamps, Henry Cavill and Jersey.

An ‘augmented reality’ app has also been released through Smartsy, which features an exclusive introduction to the stamps from Henry Cavill. Users are introduced to the story behind each stamp, and are treated to bonus information, trailer and images from the film. There is also a gallery of stunning iconic views of Jersey from local photographer Danny Evans and more information about Jersey Post.

Jersey Post’s Philatelic Bureau started work on the project almost two years ago, opening discussions with the Henry Cavill Management Team as soon as it was announced who would be taking the lead role in the movie. Warner Bros. Pictures have also been actively involved in all the concept and development of the stamps, which received Royal approval this month.

Sally Diamond, Head of Philatelic at Jersey Post said: ‘This is an incredibly exciting day for Jersey Post. We are renowned for producing innovative and highly collectible stamp issues that reflect important cultural and historic moments with relevance to Jersey, such as the hologram stamp we issued last year to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. On this occasion we have produced a stunning set of stamps, which were inspired not only by a momentous cinematic occasion but also by the talent that this small island is capable of producing.’

Henry Cavill is a former Head Boy at St Michael’s Preparatory School where he first trod the boards and was bitten by the acting bug. He has appeared in a number of acclaimed television series, most notably The Tudors, and also the 2011 film ‘Immortals’. His father, Colin Cavill said: ‘Henry is very proud of his island roots and has been involved in the development of the stamps throughout. Jersey Post has gone to great lengths to provide such a beautiful and wonderfully creative set of treasures.’

Could Henry Be Headed To Comic-Con? & Good News For 'The Great Wall'

With Man of Steel promo picking up by the day, we don't want you to miss any newsworthy stories involving Henry. Here's our latest wrap.

Today we woke up to this new Superman logo. Warner Bros. and DC Comics unveiled it as part of their 75th  anniversary celebration for the superhero. They also revealed to THR that Man of Steel director Zack Snyder is producing a new animated short that will be screened at Comic-Con in July:

Details for the short are being kept secret (maybe in a lead vault?), but insiders tell Heat Vision Snyder envisioned one continuous shot, without edits, that's an homage to the Man of Steel and his many iterations over the past 75 years: Max Fleischer's cartoons, on-screen portrayals by George Reeves and Christopher Reeve, iconic versions drawn by artists Wayne Boring, Curt Swan and Neal Adams, on up through HenryCavill’s interpretation in Man of Steel.

(..) Warner and DC are planning to show an animatic version of the two-minute short, which is being worked on in Los Angeles, London and Korea, during this summer’s Comic-Con, ahead of a fall debut across multiple platforms. That's just one part of a Superman rollout at this summer's Con.

Does this mean Henry could be there?, we don't see how a "Superman rollout" would not involve the current Man of Steel. Plus if rumors are true, a Justice League announcement could also be in the works. Here's hoping..

And if you know what you want from the Man of Steel sequel or Justice League film, post it online because producers are apparently reading your thoughts. Check out what Charles Roven told SFX.

Embargoes are being lifted by Warner Bros, as you could tell with Henry's just released 25 minute interview on the set of Man of SteelMovies.com was among the sites that got to talk with director Zack Snyder, and he had only great things to say about Henry:

What does Henry bring to this?

Snyder: Henry is like, Superman-ish, you know, in his feel. He’s really kind. He’s incredibly humble in real life. He can project a naïveté, which is nice, without seeming naïve, which is really a difficult quality. I don’t feel like you can take advantage of him, but he’d still help you change your tire if you had a flat tire on the side of the road. There’s a fine line there.

Snyder also talked about the new Supes suit and how it came to be.

Finally, Legendary East  today announced a deal that likely means The Great Wall (which Henry is reportedly still attached to) will get made sooner than later:

Legendary East has yet to disclose which titles would get the greenlight first, but the company has for years been developing "The Great Wall," an historic action fantasy that once had Henry Cavill attached.
(still attached as far as we know).

"The Great Wall," set in 15th century China, revolves around British warriors who happen upon the construction of the massive wall, and learn that the hurried construction of the wall isn't just to keep out the Mongols, but something else more inhuman and dangerous. Film was never greenlit.

Stay tuned for the latest on that project. With Henry in talks for The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and potentially a Justice League in the works, it looks like we'll have plenty to cover in the months to come.

'Man of Steel' Director Thinks Henry "Would Be Great" For 'Fifty Shades'

We kinda really love director Zack Snyder right now. While doing promo for Man of Steel in Toronto this week, a reporter mentioned the buzz surrounding Henry as Christian in Fifty Shades of Grey. Snyder was surprisingly candid with his answer (at about 2:05).

At this point it looks like Henry is headed in a different direction, with confirmation that he's in talks to replace Tom Cruise in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and rumors of him reprising his Man of Steel role in a soon to be announced Justice League. But you never know!

Confirmed: Henry In Talks To Star In 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.'

It was just a little over a month ago, that Henry talked to Details magazine about being "jobless--reading scripts, and looking for a project." Turns out he didn't have to go far. Warner Bros. has confirmed Henry is in talks to star in The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

THR:

Henry Cavill is in talks to step into the shoes vacated by Tom Cruise in Man From U.N.C.L.E., Warner Bros.’s big-screen take on the classic spy series.

Cruise dropped out of the project, being directed by Guy Ritchie, last week due to his schedule bumping up against Mission: Impossible 5.

It was the latest acting snafu to befall the long-in-the-works project, but the studio quickly worked to find a replacement, as it wants to shoot the movie this fall.

Armie Hammer is still onboard to co-star in the film, while Swedish actress Alicia Vikander is in negotiations for the female lead.

U.N.C.L.E. tells of the spy adventures of American agent Napoleon Solo and Soviet agent Illya Kuryakin. Cavill will now play Solo to Hammer’s Kuryakin.

The Wrap:

Cavill is making a deal to play Napoleon Solo in Guy Ritchie's feature adaptation of the classic 1960s TV series.

Cruise left the project last week in order to focus his attention on producing "Mission: Impossible 5" for Paramount and Skydance.

With "Man of Steel" buzz swirling in Burbank, WB execs are confident that Cavill has what it takes to launch a franchise that lacks the built-in audience of Superman fans. The British star of "The Tudors" previously powered Relativity's "Immortals" to a worldwide gross of $226 million.

(..) It's early days, but CAA-repped Cavill doesn't have any projects crowding his fall schedule, as WB and Legendary East's supernatural movie "The Great Wall" has been postponed indefinitely.

Bleeding Cool:

Cavill is negotiating his terms now, and if he agrees, he’ll be starring opposite Armie Hammer – the man who almost played Batman in the almost Justice League movie of almost five years ago.

Guy Ritchie is directing The Man from UNCLE. The studio really wants it to be a hit and a franchise starter.

We could end up seeing a scheduling fan dance over the next few years as Guy Ritchie and Robert Downey Jr. slot in around Marvel for another Sherlock Holmes and Cavill and Ritchie try to get more UNCLE in the bag around Superman engagements. Anything would be easier than trying to work with Tom Cruise’s ever growing list of serials, though.

Screenrant:

Variety was the first to report Cavill’s possible involvement in the film, noting that the actor’s schedule is wide open, making him a good last-minute replacement for Cruise. It’s a smart choice for another reason, too: Cavill’s (potential) star power. Assuming Man of Steel does the kind of business that industry analysts are projecting, Cavill will be a bona fide box office star by the time the movie comes out. Will he be as big a name as Cruise? No, but he will have plenty of name recognition, and that’s a big deal.

Given that most modern audiences will be unfamiliar with the original 1960s TV series, casting an A-lister in the lead role is important. Pairing Cavill with Armie Hammer (who is testing his own leading man chops in Disney’s The Lone Ranger) is a great way to lock in two rising stars and breathe some life into a property with less built-in brand recognition.

Variety

The interesting part about this casting is that Cavill actually met for the Hammer role when Cruise had already been negotiations for the lead. The studio obviously has a great relationship with him having worked with him on “Man of Steel” and had also been looking at him for a co-starring role opposite Chris Hemsworth in “In the Heart of the Sea.”

This is a very positive sign for a film that has been looking long and hard for its leading man going all the way back when George Clooney was attached to star and Steven Soderbergh was attached to direct. After they both left the project, Warners approached several actors to star including Johnny Depp, Channing Tatum, Ben Affleck and Bradley Coooper but in each of the cases they either passed or could not make their dates work.

With Cavill’s schedule wide open having not set up his next film, its a good sign that the studio may have finally found their man. Production is set to start this fall.

Not familiar with the original series, we of course turned to Wikipedia for answers. READ MORE about the series, WATCH AN INTRO CLIP, and prepare yourselves to see Henry battle the bad guys as a spy!

Henry Cavill News: Exclusive Q&A With The Super Burger "Guy"

It's all people have been talking about since its release on YouTube over the weekend, the Zack Snyder directed burger commercial featuring Henry Cavill.

We got the chance to talk exclusively with the main star of the ad, Guy Nardulli. He plays the worker fixing all those potholes Man of Steel is leaving behind as he tries to save the world.

For those of us unfamiliar with how TV spots are shot, can you run us through how much rehearsing time goes into it, and from start to finish how long of a shoot it was?

TV spots are unique, each one is different from one another, some require a ton of rehearsal and well others you just show up get your lines and go to work. For this spot, we just had to work out the pacing of the walk from the truck, around and back to the back of the truck. Pretty simple, and Zack Snyder made it easy, he knew exactly what he wanted in the shot. My call time was 7am and I was done at 7pm. Shot different angles, close ups of both myself and Henry and these take time cause you have to have different set ups for each shot... ie light position, different takes from the actors, and of course in this spot the bite.

What was it like to work with Henry? is there any funny, quirky, unique story you can share from that day on set?

Henry was amazing, very approachable, open, a true professional on set. We chatted about our careers and what we have next on our plates. I will say that Henry makes a great Superman, every quality you can ask for he has.

The TV spot was directed by the one and only Zack Snyder. Can you tell us how that experience was like?

Working for Zack was a great experience, I mean this guy has done 300, Watchmen, and now Superman to name a few. Very easy to work for, he had a vision of what he wanted, presented it as simply as he could and we got this spot. I was honored to be a part of this. In some way I'll be connected to the Superman franchise now thanks to Zack and the people at the Carl's Jr/Hardee's (72 and sunny) advertising agency. I will say this, the first time Zack yelled cut it sounded as if he was groaning in disapproval almost like he was saying ugh!!!!! it freaked me out cause I thought I did something wrong but didn't, it's just his way of yelling cut.

We loved the apologetic expression Henry gives the camera when he makes yet another pothole for you to fix. Can you share any details about that scene?

Superman is doing everything that he can to keep the public safe, defending the planet from General Zod. So the potholes he is creating with his landings are not meant for the destruction its just sort of happening, and he can't help that he's well Superman, and it's his way of saying sorry don't mean to make you work more. But hey it's the least I can do fix a few potholes while he keeps us safe. Thank god I got this big Super Bacon Burger to give me the energy to work.

How many times did you have to bite into that Super Bacon Cheeseburger before they got the right shot?

We had an over/under bet on set as to how many times I would do that. Most of the other shoots they do they said there could be a ton of bites, so I set the line at 54. I think it was actually like 40 something bites.

What are you up to next?

I just recently shot a few guest staring roles on CBS' VEGAS, and ABC's REVENGE. Currently working on getting a film that I co-wrote ready to shoot in Chicago, a crime drama which I will also star in. Also have a few short films coming out, one you can see a scene on Vimeo right now called No Intent, the other will be out in a month or so called Last Goodbye, a touching story about a relationship on the verge of ending.

Finally, will you be watching 'Man of Steel' on opening weekend?

I WILL DEFINITELY BE WATCHING AND SUPPORTING HENRY AND ZACK!!!

We'd like to thank Guy Nardulli once again for granting us this interview. You can keep up with him on his IMDb page and also on twitter @Guy24.

Journalist Shares New Pic With Henry From 'Man of Steel' Promo

Sebastian Tabany was among the journalists who got to interview Henry during his latest chat with the press for Man of Steel promotion (earlier this year). His interview was just published in Viva magazine (Argentina), and he was kind enough to share this new pic with fans.

When we asked him to briefly share something about Henry, he exclusively told us that he was "very cool  and *not* a star" (meaning humble). <<-- We LOVE hearing this.

Super Hunk: Henry Named 'Bikini Body Watch' Champ

We've seen the impressive body Henry worked hard to get while filming Man of Steel (see our exclusive HQ pics). But apparently not everyone was paying as close attention until now. Dish Nation's Bikini Body Watch recently named him their pick of the week. Henry is the first guy to get the (well deserved) recognition. Move over Miranda Kerr and Katy Perry! - watch the funny exchange starting at about 2:49.

Hollywood Takeover: Henry Is Everywhere!

When we heard Henry was spotted in Venice Beach this weekend, we were not surprised. Hopefully he's getting some R&R before the Man of Steel promo keeps him busy for a while. One thing is for sure, you can't go anywhere in LA without seeing that gorgeous face of his.

This is the Man of Steel billboard at Warner Bros. We're waiting for another one to go up. We'll add it when we spot it :)

This was right up the road, and so was the billboard below it.

We then drove down to Hollywood. There, Henry was every few blocks!

'Man of Steel' Promo Playing Up The "Two Dads" Scenario

As we get closer to the release of Man of Steel, we've seen a shift in the promo. It now seems to be focused on the emotional side of Superman, specifically the link to his two dads (see latest spot). This article below is from this week's Entertainment Weekly.

The film opens on Father's Day weekend, and Sears is also focusing on the father/son connection in its latest Man of Steel ad.

So bring some Kleenex, because it looks like you're gonna need them when Man of Steel opens June 14.
