'The Witcher' Stars Talk Geralt & Henry, Trailer Breakdown

It's been an exciting week, after Henry's costars traveled to Lucca Comics & Games to release the trailer for The Witcher.

Now their interviews are coming in, and we want to make sure you don't miss what Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan said about Geralt and working with Henry (top video):

"For Yennefer, it's was very complicated as the fans know from the books. They are linked by destiny and she's completely drawn to him and she finds herself needing him when she doesn't want to need anyone... she's just so, she's so independent and that's explored in the series."

"For me, in the series he's almost a father figure I suppose to Ciri. But I almost also feel like it's a brotherly relationship as well, like he's her big brother and also in real life... I feel that same kind of thing as well because of how much, you know he's guiding me and you know helping me out and giving advice, ah yeah... definitely big brother."

The interviews also give you a good idea of where The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich is headed with the series.

Wired had a chance to talk to Lauren, Freya and Anya as well. You can read that interview on their site.

As for what fans thought of the trailer, here's a good reaction video with commentary from IGN.

Finally, Gizmodo has a terrific breakdown of the trailer, especially for the uninitiated. Here's that link.

Now that we know The Witcher is coming to Netflix December 20th, all that's left to do is clear that weekend schedule and get ready for a trip to the Continent!

"He Is Absolutely Obsessed With Geralt" Showrunner On Henry

The Witcher showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich is wrapping up her visit to Lucca Comics & Games, where she did several interviews ahead of the release of the new trailer.

She talked to Variety (you can read that interview here) and also chatted with BGR about the Netflix series and its stars, including Henry:

“He’s a dream to work with, but even more than that, and the fact that he’s a genuinely nice human being — he is absolutely obsessed with Geralt in a way I could not even fathom when we met. He has so thoroughly steeped himself in this world. He’s a huge gamer and knew the games very well and then when he realized Netflix was making the show, he went and read all of the books, so he’s really a scholar of the material that’s come before us. What I love is also what Henry has brought to his own Geralt. With any actor, a little piece of them comes into the role they’re playing. Henry has a stoicism to him and sort of a quiet thoughtfulness that he has instilled in Geralt.”

Hissrich was in Italy with Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra and Andrzej Sapkowski. She shared some of the cool moments from their trip to the con.

Today, The Witcher trailer is what everyone is talking about!

Make sure to catch the details on the cool exhibit Netflix set up for fans in Lucca and look for the latest on the show as we look ahead to its release: Friday, December 20th.
