Henry Issues Statement On Comments Made In GQ Interview

A post shared by Dany Garcia (@danygarciaco) on

Henry has issued a statement regarding his #metoo comments in GQ Australia:

Having seen the reaction to an article in particular about my feelings on dating and the #metoo movement, I just wanted to apologize for any confusion and misunderstanding that this may have created. Insensitivity was absolutely not my intention.

In light of this I would just like to clarify and confirm to all that I have always and will continue to hold women in the highest of regard, no matter the type of relationship whether it be friendship, professional, or a significant other.

Never would I intend to disrespect in any way, shape or form. This experience has taught me a valuable lesson as to the context and the nuance of editorial liberties.

I look forward to clarifying my position in the future towards a subject that it so vitally important and in which I wholeheartedly support. - Henry Cavill.

  1. it really saddens me to see the "fans" insulting him on Instagram. I read the article in full and he was explaining the difficulty in dating for the fact that women sometimes worry of a man's intentions. If these fans truly knew Henry they would know that he is a kind sweet considerate gentleman who cares about other peoples feelings. I still stand by him as he is a decent guy with good morals.

    1. I think he should date a lady of his age cause he's been dating girls and girls are insecure !!
He deserves a real secure woman!

  2. Cheers to that! I read the article as well and honestly I think his thoughts reflect most men’s thoughts on the subject, which is a larger discussion. He was just being honest and authentic in his response, which I appreciate and it sucks that people are so quick to point the finger, judge and accuse these days. I know many of us have strong feelings about the topic, but we need to remember that “celebrities” are people who’s jobs simply happen to involve a lot of public attention snd scrutiny. Before bashing someone else, start asking the men in your lives, friends, brothers, relatives, spouses, and coworkers, what THEY think. I truly believe that dialogue would be more productive than spewing negative comments into the ether. And I think many would find the responses they get quite surprising.

    1. agreed, I too read the article and was surprise when I saw the "apology" saw nothing that needed it. The world is out of control, the me too movement has snowballed into something ridiculous.

  3. Dear Henry,I think you did nothing wrong and that there isn't need for the statement. Actually, I'm angry regarding the statement because this world has completely lost its mind. It is crazy that person can't tell the objective truth without being exposed to the lynch and media pressure by the groups of people who don't accept the objective truth. In this case, the objective truth is that men and women are different and because of that have different roles in life. It is stupid and dangerous when men take women roles and women take men roles - that happens today. Everything is turn upside down and based on lies. Both have responsibilities and must think how their behaviour influence on others when there is time for that. Person can't be irresponsible with bad behaviour, voluntary behave in some manner, take participation in something and then accuse other part for that thing. Real victims deserve justice, but real victims will harder get it when there is a lot of lies. Modesty, humility, integrity and virtues are the keys for better world.
Go, H! Don't lose your integrity, character and opinion.

Add:You own me one "Idemo, Vatreni! Idemo, Hrvatska!" (Let's go, Croatia) for tomorrow's match CRO-FRA because you are on CRO part of course :)

    Kind regards,

    Desert Rose
