Squishy-Faced Henry Alert!

A photo posted by Henry Cavill (@henrycavill) on

What most depressing day of the year?

It's been like Christmas today at HCN, with tons of great news for fans and Henry sharing this awesome pic just now.

Funny Henry is the best. We're laughing all the way from LA, Superman.

Stay warm!

BAFTA Awards: Everything You Need To Know

The big day is almost here!

Final preparations are underway for the BAFTA ceremony, that will take place at London's Royal Opera House tomorrow. Henry attended their Film Gala on Thursday, and will be walking the red carpet and presenting an award in front of millions of viewers around the world. No pressure, Superman..

BAFTA:

"Hosted by Stephen Fry, the ceremony will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC One HD at 21.00 on Sunday 8 February and will feature a live performance from award-winning band Kasabian. A special red carpet show will be broadcast by the BBC Three, hosted by Edith Bowman, at 20.30. BAFTA and EE will host a multi-camera live-stream red carpet show on www.bafta.org from 17.00 to 19.00, presented by ZoĆ« Ball and Rachel Riley." (London time).

We're very excited about that multi-camera experience, because it means we'll be able to follow Henry as he makes his way along that red carpet. There's a Glam Cam and a Pose Cam that you will be able to switch in real time.

The Zoe Cam is where hopefully Henry will answer a question submitted by you guys. He's profiled on that link below, so make sure to ask your question, because they are ready to interview him!

We'll be posting the first pictures and videos as they come in. If you live in the U.S. here's the info you need to know.

In the past few days, BAFTA has been really good about keeping us updated on those last minute details..

"The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has unveiled the menu for the official dinner to be served to almost 2,000 guests at Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel, London on Sunday, following the EE British Academy Film Awards."

The Daily Mail has a preview of the table settings at that party, that you don't want to miss if you're a film buff. The Guardian also did an excellent piece, on how the masks presented to the winners are created.

We think that's about it. Now all that's left to find out, is what Henry will be wearing and how dazzling he will look!

If you are lucky enough to be on that carpet with him, we'd love to see your pictures and videos. You can email us at henrycavillnews@gmail.com or reach out to us on social media.

P.S. Damir, who went to London just for the Man of Steel premiere (he's from Croatia), added some details on meeting Henry:

I must say that before we took this picture, when Henry approached and I was yelling "Henryyy, picture please," he noticed that I was holding a Superman comic in my hands and then he asked me "do you want me to sign that first?" With all the excitement I almost forgot to ask for an autograph. Then he signed it and after that we took this picture. That was very nice of him and you can tell that he is one great and fantastic person. Thank you for that Henry, wish you the best in your life :)

Here's to more stories like Damir's tomorrow. Good luck, Henry!

UT Fan Pic: That 'Mountain Man Look' Sure Looks Good, Henry!

Click for HQ

We're really happy to see Henry out and about in London, but to be honest we were also really liking that Mountain Man look he had going in Salt Lake City.

(We had to look that up, not Millennials.. shoot us). Adam (adamdehlavi) just shared his pic after meeting Henry about a week ago, when he also hung out with some other fans. Thanks, Adam. Here's to more of Henry in that hot lookin' beard of his!

Fans Meet Henry & His Trainer In Utah, Share Encounter

earthangel13 met Henry and his trainer, Mike Blevins in Utah recently, and shared her account with Amancanfly. It's nice to see these two together again! -- Read the story below.

So 2015 is turning out to be a VERY eventful year.
Yes. Yes, that is Henry Cavill, and he did walk into my restaurant Thai Siam, and, yes, I was the ultimate fangirl.
I was just minding my own business, watching the front, when two men walked into the restaurant. When I first saw Henry Cavill and first heard his beautiful English accent, I thought he was suspiciously good-looking and that he looked familiar, but I couldn’t place him.
SO, they sat down, and I took their order, all the meanwhile looking at them and wondering where I’d seen him before. I thought, “You know, he looks like Henry Cavill.” But, when I went back to the kitchen to tell Cameron and Deshawn that I thought Henry Cavill was sitting at the bar, we all agreed that it was highly unlikely.
I went back to talk to them, and I mentioned that I liked his accent, and he told me he liked mine, and where was I from? THEN I STARTED BLABBERING. And, for about fifteen minutes, he, his friend, and I just went on and on about Japan and what we loved about it, and we laughed and it was fantastic and he was adorable, but then he said that he wanted to order some wine.
THE GENIUS STRUCK ME.
"Sure! Could I see some ID please?"
I’ve never seen someone so reluctant to pull out his ID in my LIFE.
When I saw “Henry William Cavill,” I almost died.
"I’m trying really hard to be calm right now," I said really quietly as I held onto the ID card. "but I KNEW IT WAS YOU."
He just laughed and rubbed his beard. “You mean my disguise didn’t work?”
I didn’t want to attack him while all the customers were around, because I didn’t want him to be mobbed by all the other people who thought he was beautiful, too. So, I patiently waited till everyone left, then I, Deshawn, Cameron, and all the server girls swarmed in for photos.
He was so nice. Really. I just can’t believe he came to Thai Siam. IT WAS SO SURREAL. I never imagined it would happen, holy FLUFF.
IT WAS A GOOD NIGHT.

Henry has been in Utah since the end of last year training for his role in Stratton, that is set to begin filming in a few months. Thanks for sharing everyone.

P.S. Loving the beanie, Henry!

Utah Sighting: Is That Henry With Jason Momoa?

We know that's Superman, but is that Aquaman as well?

We love seeing Henry, but the problem with these sneaky pictures, is that you don't really get any details/context. We really wish people would just ask for a photo. He's nice, he'll likely say yaaas!... *and* we would have gotten a less blurry pic.

Jason Momoa was at Sundance on Sunday but left after making a few appearances, so if that's him we're guessing he caught up with Henry sometime after that. This would be the first time we see the two of them together (Holy Hotness, Batman v Superman), which is why we've gone ahead and posted the photo.

Henry also hung out with fans on Friday night in Salt Lake City. Hope he's enjoying the outdoors, that area is gorgeous and there's plenty to do. Stay warm, Superman.

What Winter Blues?... Hello Superman!

mfjpn: "Hung out with Henry Cavill last night." #Superman #ManofSteel #Theseus #Immortals

Were we right about the cabin in the woods, or were we right about the cabin in the woods?.. Hi Henry!

If Superman wanted to stay under the radar, last night was not the best time to show up at a bar. Our twitter feed was filled with nothing but excited fans watching Henry as Theseus in Immortals on FX. Kinda like with the look he has now. Only now he's much bigger.. and has been sporting a badass beard.

Henry has been busy preparing for Stratton, that's set to start filming in a few months. We have to say he really knows how to rock the mountain-man look. What winter blues? - hope he's enjoying the chilly weather, because winter sure looks great on him.

Holiday Weekend Treat: Fan Meets Henry In Detroit

"Excuse me Mr. Superman will you take a selfie with me?" "Of course" Met #HenryCavill also known as the guy who plays #ManOfSteel and he is such a down to earth guy, real glad I got to meet him."

Seeeee?? even on his holiday break Henry makes time for his fans. How can you NOT support him in everything? -- Henry told us he was gonna miss Detroit, when Batman v Superman moved on to other filming locations last month. Glad to see him back in Michigan. Stay warm Superman!

Dear Superman: We Wish You An Early Summer

It may be spring, but it's certainly feeling very summer-like in Southern California with temperatures in the 80s. It makes us feel kinda guilty, since Henry has been brrrraving the cold in chilly Detroit since he arrived there in January (it's actually warming up this week).  So we decided to do a little wrap of Henry in warmer climate, so he'll remember the good times. In the sun. With his fans.

California dreamin'

Gabrielle met Henry at a California restaurant. We would have died. Seriously, with the muscles and the tan and the hair.. DEAD.

This seemed like a fun time on the beach. Another great pic of Henry in his Legendary gear (we LOVE seeing him wear it). Angelo and Michael also met him in L.A. last year.

Peter and Charles seemed to be having a good time with Superman. We're thinking it could have been this night. You know, just much earlier ;)

Summer at home

Yup, he's THE MAN. Charles and Jamie met Henry when he was back in London preparing for the start of filming on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. last August. That night was memorable to say the least. Hot, hot, hot.

That's musician Newton Faulkner in the dreads. Fun times were had. That's all we need to know. Don't miss the rest. 1/2/3/4. (Thanks Ben).

So while Henry is chillin' in Detroit  (see what we did there... oy) we're wishing him sunny skies and warmer days despite the fact that we'll miss the beanie. Summer is almost here Jersey boy!

Editor note: All the pics were found online without a link to the original source. Please let us know if you own them, so we can properly credit you.

Chilly Man of Steel: Winter Not Done With Detroit

We're just a few days away from the beginning of spring, but don't tell that to the city of Detroit. It's been a record-breaking winter and Henry has been there for most of it. You know what that means... beanie appreciation post part 2! (part 1).

Mlive just shared the latest numbers released by the National Weather Service:

*Detroit's average winter temperature this season (20.9) marked the coldest winter since 1977-78 and the eighth coldest all-time (18.8 in 1903-04 is the coldest).

*Detroit's winter snowfall of 90.7" is the second highest of all-time and is more than twice the seasonal normal (42.5"). The largest amount of snowfall on record for the area is 93.6" during the 1880-81 season.

*Detroit's 13 days of below-zero temperatures this winter are the most days below-zero since there was 15 during the 1983-84 season. The current mark ties for seventh all-time; the record is 21 below-zero days during the 1884-85 season. The average below-zero days in a season for Metro Detroit is 3.6.

Hang on bearded Superman, it's almost over! (says the writer typing this up in balmy L.A.) -- costume designer Michael Wilkinson did tell us he'll be in Detroit for the "most beautiful time of the year," during the months of April through December. Production updates as we get them!
