Henry Cavill Rocking The Super Suit On 'Batman v Superman' Set

We had just gotten a first look at Henry on the Batman v Superman set a few days ago, but this tops it x 1000!

MTV has shared this picture of Henry in his updated Superman suit on the downtown Detroit set of the film. We had seen the new suit in the first official still released by Warner Bros. last month, but nothing like seeing Henry wearing it on set!

Henry Cavill Back In Michigan: First Look At Superman On Set!

It's the moment we've been waiting for since filming on Batman v Superman began, a first look at Henry in his Superman suit! -- Bananadoc captured the shots while covering the latest set in downtown Detroit. You can see them in full size at Just Jared. About time we got to see you Man of Steel, the wait was well worth it. Oh, did we mention we have a few awesome candids to share from that set? look for them later this week.

Rock Run Update, Ben Talks Batman, Henry Up For Ben-Hur?

Filming on Batman v Superman continues in Detroit, and this past week we got a first look at Amy Adams on set. We also heard from Batman himself, who talked to Entertainment Weekly about the outcry over his casting, and a little bit of what we can expect on the big screen:

EW: So what it’s like to portray Batman?

BEN AFFLECK: I’m right in the middle of shooting now. It’s a process that I’ll probably have better perspective on when I’m done. I can tell you that every time I do a role, it’s the responsibility of an actor to get their physical self as close to the role as possible. And Batman’s obviously got a set of expectations that are tough. So I spent a lot of time working out. And it’s a far cry from Gone Girl where my character is described as “puffy and hungover.” I want you to know I worked equally hard at both! [laughs]

It feels slightly ridiculous using the word “outcry” describing your casting. But there was actual outcry—a lot of people freaked when they heard about Batfleck. To what extent did all that get under your skin?

Before I took the role, Warner Bros. gave me a bunch of past reactions to casting and said, “Are you sure you want to get into this? This is part and parcel of these movies now. There’s a lot of active fans with a lot of opinions.” To me, having been through a certain amount of that, it doesn’t really… Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. I wouldn’t have taken the part if I didn’t trust my instincts in terms of the filmmaking. I think Chris Terrio wrote a terrific script. Zack’s a great visual director. And there’s an interesting take. I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t think I could do it. I have the benefit of a lot of that understanding. But also, everyone is entitled to their opinion. That’s a big part of this international sport. The Fifty Shades of Grey kid or whatever it is. That’s sort of become a thing.

Even if Henry is not Ben-Hur, it's great to see he's being considered for those types of projects.. his years of hard work and perseverance paying off!

Bat Pic Question Answered: It's All About Conservation

When Henry was announced as the first ambassador for the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, many of you wondered about the picture with Henry and the bats. So does it have anything to do with Batman v Superman? we got the answer from Durrell's Rick Jones, who just responded to your comments on our initial post. He also had the best things to say about Henry:

For all of you commenting on what a 'lovely soul' Henry has, I can confirm 100% – actually that's a perfect description. He's one of the nicest people I've met, regardless of any fame or fortune. His visit to the 'Island Bat Roost' happened because the enclosure is built using 100% recycled materials, heated by a biomass burner (in which we burn soiled animal bedding, itself made from shredded paper from the offices) and purpose built to allow the rarest fruit bats in the world to fully exercise their flight muscles. The movie link is coincidental, but it's awesome none-the-less!

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Pushed Back To August 14, 2015

Nooooooo. That was our initial reaction when hearing that Warner Brothers has pushed back the release of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. from January 16, 2015 to August 14, 2015. Then again it does get a coveted summer spot, and seven months later we get to see Henry as Superman now that Batman v Superman has been moved up to March 25, 2016. Trying to find the silver linings y'all. We'll wait for you Solo!

The set might have had to simulate rain for a scene, but the city of Detroit sure didn't need to. There was some major flooding there Monday (see pics at MLive). Luckily, it didn't seem to affect the shoot that continued today.

At last check Henry was still overseas wrapping up his work on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and launching his latest charity push: Cavill Conservation. On the Warner Bros. DC film developing front, today we learned the studio has hired two writers to separately come up with an Aquaman movie script. You can read the rest at The Hollywood Reporter.
