'Batman v Superman' Filming Update, Cast Members Share Details

While Henry is headed to Gibraltar in a few days to participate in the Rock Run, filming continues in Michigan ahead of a move to Chicago next month.

This week there have been reports of work at several Batman v Superman Michigan locations, including the one in Metamora that we've known about since January. Josh and his family live in the area, and he tells us he's seen a lot more activity there in the last few days (we hear there was even a possible Superman sighting). He also shot this video of the area and promised to keep us posted. Thanks Josh!

We've also been getting some really cool updates by director Zack Snyder. He shared a pic of one of the cameras being used on the Batman v Superman set, as well as a farewell photo with Tao Okamoto now that her work on the film appears to be finished.

And now that he can say he's Aquaman, Jason Momoa is totally bragging about it! -- and he's even shared some details about his appearance on Justice League. Check it out on The Hollywood Reporter.

Ray Fisher will play Cyborg in Batman v Superman, but turns out he didn't know he was getting a solo film until the studio made the public announcement last week! -- read more at Entertainment Weekly.

More updates to come, as Batman v Superman gets closer to a wrap.

Batman v Superman: MSU Tweets Up A Storm Ahead Of Filming

UPDATE (10/15): No star sightings so far, but a few updates on the crowds and the scene at The Lansing State Journal, Fox 47 News and WILX TV news report.

As dawn broke this morning in Detroit, things seemed peaceful enough at the studio. But in the meantime in East Lansing.. crazy times!

The Broad Museum at Michigan State University today was getting readied for filming there this week. And it's safe to say pretty much everyone on campus knows about the Batman v Superman shoot.

And while we really don't know what cast members are filming at MSU, here's a clue..
Extras were hired for filming on Thursday and Friday nights (fancy party scene) -- but you know how shoots are.. things change.

WILX also checked out the set. WATCH.

If you live in the area and happen to run into Superman.. or Batman let us know! -- happy star-watching everyone. We'll be bringing you updates all week.

Roven On 'Batman v Superman,' Latest From Lansing, Hans Zimmer Impresses In London

"We wanted Batman to tower over Superman. Not hugely, not like a basketball player. Superman needed to 'look up' to Batman. We wanted that dynamic, and Ben could do that, easily."

Batman v Superman producer Charles Roven, recently shared some major casting details during his visit to Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television. He talked about Ben Affleck and how he was "the first guy" they approached to be Batman and much more. You can read the full transcript at The Hollywood Reporter or watch below or at this link.

This week Batman v Superman is filming at the Broad Museum in East Lansing, Michigan and everyone is SO ready!

The Lansing State Journal tried to pull a Clark Kent, by filing a formal request for information to try and get some details on the shoot. Michigan State University will have to answer to the newspaper.. but the school is taking its sweet time:

The Broad, clearly visible from East Grand River Avenue, is closed this week for what officials will only say is a "private rental." MSU apparently needed more Bat-Time to respond to a Freedom of Information Act request about the name of the renter and the cost. The university said this week it needed until Oct. 22 to come up with an answer.

Of course by then the cast and crew will be long gone. Touché MSU.

If you're in the area and want to catch some of the filming, look for the pink camera!

#Repost from @cruelfilms We painted our cameras black for the movie about a year ago and while they were doing that we had them make this pink mag which we've been holding for October #breastcancerawareness

Cinematographer Larry Fong shared the picture posted by director Zack Snyder on Instagram, as part of their support for Breast Cancer Awareness month. The film's cast and crew also participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (HELLO CHILLY SUPES). Zack and his wife Debbie also showed their support for Henry and the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.

Go team Batman v Superman!

Finally, last we heard composer Hans Zimmer was considering doing the score for the follow-up to Man of Steel. After getting a taste via YouTube of his live performance in London over the weekend, we are really hoping that becomes a reality.

Look for the latest from Michigan as we get it!

Batman v Superman: Filming Locations Galore, Diner Brags About Superman's Visit

Image: thegeekofsteel

October has arrived, and with it come tons of updates from several sets of Batman v Superman. As we get closer to a December wrap filming seems to be moving fairly quickly, with the cast and crew spotted at several Detroit locations just in the past few days.

On Monday, Amy was seen walking near the set during a filming break. You can see the rest of the photos at The Daily Mail.

This was the Gotham mansion set Monday night and then today. Production has almost completely cleared out of there.

We may not know much about what was filmed at the mansion, but we're pretty sure Superman was involved after some fans caught up with him. Henry was looking extremely Superman-y for just a night out on the town.

In the meantime, Chicago has started making final preparations to welcome the Batman v Superman production in early November. But first they'll head to Lansing.

A few weeks ago there was a call for extras needed for filming there on October 16 and 17. Now The Lansing State Journal has pretty much confirmed it will happen at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, which we kinda knew since Zack Snyder was spotted scouting the museum on Michigan State University's campus last spring. A local TV station provided a clue on what could be filming there.

Read what WILX TV found out about the shoot. More on The Lansing State Journal.

Finally, while this week has been Henry pic-free as far the sets are concerned, leave it to a friendly Michigan diner to brag about Superman's visit.

We had posted the black and white photo of a group of fans meeting Henry there a few weeks ago, but the restaurant's Facebook shared it in color.

Talk about some SUPER promotion. Look for more from Michigan, as we count down to Chicago!

Michigan Family Meets Henry: "Great Guy"

No more than a couple of days go by, without us hearing about some lucky fan who met Henry in Detroit. This time it was Mark Woert's family who got a chance to chat with him. Mark adds that Henry was "good enough" to give his son an autograph and take a photo with him. We'd expect nothing less from Superman. Thanks for sharing Mark!

UPDATE 9/7: Here's another photo from the same place. Love seeing Henry's curly hair!

Peter__Han: "Henry Cavill from Superman wanted a picture with me and my friend Jen Knoblock. No biggie though."

We're not exactly sure what's going on here, but we're loving the purple flower. Photo: Gabriella Serraiocco

Tina Dusevic  (TinaTina_) shared a fun bit after hanging out with Henry: "Me and Henry Cavill aka Superman. He hates me because I call George by his first name" (Clark, see below).

Tina captioned this fun photo: "selfies with Superman!" and later described Henry as a "very cool and down to earth guy."

What a lucky couple! -- the man is the sweetest (and obviously the hottest). See the rest of the fan pics with Henry in the last 24 hours. Not hard to support him.. at all.

Charming Henry: BEST. PICS. EVER.

This should be everyone's reaction after meeting Henry Cavill.

UPDATE: @AloraFalconer (IG) is the lucky girl who got these great photos with Henry a few weeks ago in the Detroit area. Thank you for reaching out! - below are the better quality pics Alora shared on Instagram.

"My dream came true. I met Henry Cavill!!! #Superman"

Her friend @NickRepp (IG) also got a pic with Henry that day. Nice!

Alora shared her story with us, about how she met Henry:

I was driving about ten minutes away from downtown when I saw my cousin posted a picture of him and her in her store (I checked my phone at a stop light..don't text and drive!) ;) I thought I would head down there to see if he was still there, he has visited downtown a few times since he's been here. He wasn't at the store but his car was parked right in front, sindi said he was going to get something to eat. I decided to stick around the store for a while and see if he was coming back. I handed out samples for the store, I wanted to do something productive while I waited haha. A little while later, nick says to me "oh my god, it's him!" I turned around and just froze. Another friend who was with us asked him if he would take a picture. In that beautiful British accent he said, "oh yes, of course!" I walked to him, shook his hand, told him I was his biggest fan. He thought that was amusing. I don't know what came over me, I said "take a picture of me like this because I've finally met him!!!" And that's when I threw my hands up in the air. Everyone thought I was crazy but it was so worth it!! :)

Thanks to Alora and Nick, and as always thanks to Henry for being so awesome with his fans. Have a great weekend everyone!

Can't Get Enough Of That Bearded Smile: More From MI Competition

As we get closer to the start of filming on Man of Steel 2, it's hard to come across fan pics of Henry. Last time we saw him he was enjoying St. Patrick's Day. Now a couple of new photos from last month's Crossfit competition have surfaced (check out the rest 1/2). Henry was there to support his trainer Michael Blevins and plenty of fans got a chance to meet him. Steve says Henry watched him compete and cheered him on. Right on, Superman!

Thanks for sharing Courtney

Henry Cavill "Very Nice" Says Owner Of Michigan Sports Store

A rep for GearBox Rx got a chance to meet Henry at the Michigan Barbell Classic last month, so it's no surprise he turned up at their store looking for some Crossfit equipment and a new pair of shoes over the weekend. The store posted the new picture with this caption on their Facebook page:

"Superman stopped by and bought some Invo8s."
(We think they meant Inov-8)

The store tells us he was there Friday and at first they didn't recognize him because of the longer hair and beard. But then he asked for a pair of shoes "in U.S. size" and that was the giveaway. They said he was "very nice" and they treated him just like they would any other customer. And is that Gina in the background? our readers seem to think so. The store only said Henry was there with two other people, one of them reportedly being his trainer, Michael Blevins. They added that no other pics were taken, but when Blevins returned the next day they asked if they could get a proper photo with the Man of Steel the next time he comes in. Nice to see you again, Superman.

We're just weeks away from the beginning of filming on Batman vs. Superman and we're ready to bring you the latest details and pics as we get them!

MI Report: New Details About 'Batman vs. Superman' Location

We first told you about Metamora Township in January, when a local newspaper identified the first Michigan location for Batman vs. Superman. Now an area TV station has done some more asking around and reported on it tonight. They claim filming is underway. Read the story and watch it below.

Keep in mind director Zack Snyder just told the L.A. Times filming will begin in April. We also confirmed that with costume designer Michael Wilkinson, who told us he still has final camera tests and fittings to do with Henry before filming begins. We're tracking the latest out of Michigan to bring it to you as it happens. Exciting times ahead!

"Sage" Sign Spotted At 'Man of Steel 2' Michigan Filming Location

Leave it to a University newspaper to get the first picture from the only confirmed Michigan Man of Steel 2 filming location. We told you about Metamora Township last month. Now The Michigan Times has done its own investigating and this is what they are reporting:

Construction is underway in Metamora and by the looks of things this will indeed be a possible location for this upcoming hero epic. The “No Trespassing” signs are a slight give away, but not as much as the security guard that was standing at his post on a blustery Saturday morning. He held clear signs that read “Sage” bring it to almost certainty that this film will indeed have a scene shot here. Warner Bros has listed the codename title for this film as “Sage and Milo.” Unfortunately, residents of the area also declined to comment.

Read the rest. Henry has been preparing for the film in Detroit since the beginning of the year. The studio has said filming won't begin until at least April (second quarter of the year), but it's exciting to see that sign up! -- updates as we get them.
