Goodbye Superman: Henry & Kal Fly Out Of Los Angeles

Images via

After a weekend of Golden Globes party appearances and other (1/2) sightings around town, Henry & Kal flew out of LA today. It was so nice to see them again. Don't be a stranger, Superman! -- Henry is getting ready to start filming Stratton in the spring, so stay tuned for updates as we get them.

  3. Staff Writer - Do you know if Henry is flying to Europe or somewhere in the US? I guess if he is training for Stratton, the answer would be secret. I hope Henry attends the Bafta parties in London at least. Is that in February?

    1. Destination unknown! -- Superman likes to keep us guessing. From what we understand, the training is kept secret. Have not confirmed whether he'll do any appearances around the BAFTA awards. The show is on the 8th of February. Keep you posted!

  5. I have to admit that the service dog designation/vest for Kal (the dog) really bothers me. My significant other is a quadriplegic and has a service dog to legitimately assist him (opening doors, picking up things he drops, etc.). The dog does things he can't do for himself and is an essential part of him being independent in the world. Fake service dogs only make things more difficult for the people who use them legitimately. I'm assuming Henry's camp got the vest so the dog doesn't have to be in cargo when flying, but it's not ok to designate your pet a service dog just because you want to take them more places than is typically allowed. Our pet dogs do not ride in the plane cabin when we fly, but my partner's service dog does because that dog is needed for legitimate service. Someone suggested to me that the dog might be in training, but typically when that happens, there is some sort of insignia on the dog's vest or bags that indicate a dog in training. Service dogs are also frequently trained in pairs, so I think it's unlikely that's what's happening here. I'm both disappointed and fearful that this sets a bad example for others wanting to do the same thing with their pets.

    1. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2914855/Superman-scared-flying-Man-Steel-star-Henry-Cavill-emotional-support-dog-airport.html The vest on Kal says why Henry needs him. This article explains it better. Thanks for your feedback.

  6. I didn't read the article yet, but celebrities need bodyguards to travel with them for protection from being bothered/attacked/confronted often by strange people/fans/paparazzi. Kal-El acts as a guard and buffer from any behavior from strangers that is questionable and takes up less room than a person does (and btw...Akitas are people too, so). Regular people in the public don't need a bodyguard like Kal, but famous people often do and no one minds when anyone brings a bodyguard with them. Besides, it's really no one's business if someone brings a service dog (whether it's a guard or in training or not)...especially since it isn't doing anything but behaving properly.

Kal is very social and gets along well with people who aren't doing anything harmful to him or Henry. Not just any dog can get a service dog status and must pass certain qualifications. So, I don't think there is anything wrong here and think it's a smart move to have Kal with him as a service dog.

    1. It really is no one's business. Thank you for that explanation, makes a lot of sense to us at least.

  7. Guard dog was my thought... and then I went on with my day. I like this guy's work and he's easy on the eyes, but I am stunned at how obsessive fans are. This is a world I did not know about :)

    1. Totally agree with you . People are either on his side or just totally against him. Shame as he seems a down to Earth person. Not that I know him personally . I'm just a big fan of his xx

  8. It seems to me like this is a sensitive issue, and IF he is taking advantage of "the system" to get his dog in the cabin of the plane, that is quite sketchy. However, no one knows if this is the case, so it's best not to judge. It's also best to avoid putting people on unrealistic pedestals--never works out in the end. No human being can balance on a pedestal for too long, and we're not meant to live on top of them. Takes way more guts to still care about and accept people with their flaws in full view.

  10. Teaching your very little canine friend the way to keep represents the fundamentals of dog obedience coaching long with different basic commands like “come” and “sit”. after all that you just might continue your dog’s education and train them the way to fetch the morning newspaper or to roll on their back. http://dogsaholic.com/training/how-to-teach-a-dog-to-stay-sit-or-come.html
