Henry Gains New Costar In 'Mission: Impossible 6'

The Mission: Impossible 6 cast announcements keep coming, as the reported filming start date of April 10th gets closer.

Today Variety exclusively broke the news that actress Sian Brooke will join Henry in the movie:

Brooke became well-known in the U.K. for her work on popular British television series such as “All About George” and “Cape Wrath.” Her recent stint as Holmes long lost sister on “Sherlock” caught the eyes of studio execs around town. Skydance and Paramount have been quick to land such rising stars as Brooke, as well as her co-star (Vanessa) Kirby after she broke out on “The Crown.”

Kirby shared the news with her fans this week.

Variety says Brooke landed a "key role" in M:I6, but did not elaborate further because not much is known about the plot.

Stay tuned for the very latest, as we follow this production from filming all the way to the big screen.

Henry's Heartfelt Message: 'Stay Brave Britain"

A post shared by Henry Cavill (@henrycavill) on

Tonight Henry posted a new message in support of Britain, following the terror attack in London.

It came on the one year anniversary of the attacks in Brussels, that prompted Warner Bros. to cancel the press line at the London Batman v Superman premiere last March.

Nomis director David Raymond, who is from London, also shared his words of encouragement.

Confirmed: 'Mission: Impossible 6' Begins Filming April 10th

Just days after Henry was announced as the newest member of the Mission: Impossible 6 cast, producer David Ellison has confirmed filming begins April 10th with locations in Paris, London, and New Zealand.

The latest news update comes via Collider, that interviewed Ellison at SXSW. He shared the exclusive details on the stunt sequence Tom Cruise has been training for...

Ellison also teased Henry's role!

We’re thrilled. Chris is back, obviously, writing and directing after Rogue Nation. We could not be more excited about the character Henry Cavill’s going to play. And I will say after the Burj [Khalifa] we thought it was going to be impossible to top that stunt, and then Tom did the A380 for the plane. What Tom is doing in this movie I believe will top anything that’s come before. It is absolutely unbelievable—he’s been training for a year. It is going to be, I believe, the most impressive and unbelievable thing that Tom Cruise has done in a movie, and he has been working on it since right after Rogue Nation came out. It’s gonna be mind-blowing.”

READ THE REST OVER AT COLLIDER.

Henry is currently in Winnipeg filming Nomis, which wraps in about a week. There is no word on when he will be joining the Mission: Impossible 6 production. We are staying on top of the latest developments, so keep checking back!

UPDATE: Rebecca Ferguson talked to ET Canada about her return to the action franchise, and she was asked about Henry:

The movie’s plot is so under wraps, Ferguson has yet to meet co-star Henry Cavill, who joins the cast in the upcoming film. “I’m pretty excited,” she says of Cavill’s casting. “I think they’re writing it right now.”

Like the rest of us, Ferguson is trying to get details on what adventures lie ahead for Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt.

“I’m trying to get information from Chris,” she says of the film’s writer and director Christopher McQuarrie. “He’s going, ‘It’s good baby.'”

The 'Nomis' Cast & Crew Busy In Winnipeg As Wrap Date Nears

the brendanfletcher: "No rest for the wicked. Head to head. Well, head to chest. He's tall. This guy is good with handcuffs. I have a black eye (not his fault) #nomis"

We're just days away from the reported wrap date for Nomis, and that means a lot of work to get done!

Over the weekend Brendan Fletcher teased a scene with Henry, that seems to point at Fletcher being a bad guy. But is he the bad guy?.. we'll have to wait to find out.

The cast and crew have been sharing quick updates, expressing how lucky they feel to be able to be part of this production.

Nomis will be released next year. We look forward to finding out more about Henry's role.

Superman Fans Get To Hang Out With Henry On 'Nomis' Set

This must have been a thrill for these two young Superman fans.

Sam sent us these photos that have surfaced online of them visiting with Henry on what appears to be the set of Nomis. You can see his police badge! and is he wearing brown contact lenses?

Earlier this week, Henry shared a super cute drawing that was dropped off for him by fans in Winnipeg (their dad even thanked him publicly). It's really nice to see that some of them are getting to meet Henry before Nomis wraps at the end of the month.

If you are the owner of these photos, please let us know so we can give you proper credit. UPDATE: Thanks so much Jill O'Neill.

'Mission: Impossible 6' Casting News Still Sinking In, Look Ahead

We don't know about you, but we're still celebrating the news that Henry has been cast in Mission: Impossible 6. From the crafty way it was revealed on Instagram earlier this week to Henry's photoshopped response, it was a brilliant rollout.

One of the things that has us super excited, is that Henry will likely be doing some of his own death-defying stunts if not all. Working with Tom Cruise pretty much guarantees that. Just ask Rebecca Ferguson, who stole the show in Rogue Nation (via Time):

Tom Cruise has gotten a lot of press for doing his own stunts for this film, including one instance where he’s dangling off the edge of a plane. What’s it like working with someone like that?

It takes a lot of training! Tom moves very fast, to try to catch up to his shadow is hard work. We had a day sprinting down the street, and he’s Michael Schumacher on legs. I heard Tom scream, “Am I going too fast for you?” He’s very chivalrous.

Did you do your own stunts?

When I met Tom and Chris, knowing I was going into a Mission: Impossible film… Mission is about very cool stunts and fighting sequences, and I was extremely excited about getting to train and learn a physical role. And to watch Tom in action, how he works and trains, it’s phenomenal. As soon as I landed, I went from the airport to the gym, and worked six hours, six days a week: weapons training, holding my breath, running, choreography. Tom would train separately, and then we’d meet and fight and see how we adapt to each other.

Ferguson will reprise her role in this latest installment of the franchise.

And here's something some of you may not know: Henry almost worked with Tom before.. in The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

I actually screen-tested for Illya at Warner Brothers, but then Armie [Hammer] got that role, so I was out. Then Tom Cruise moved onto a different movie. He was originally going to be Napoleon Solo, and Guy must have thought those two will work really well together... so let's have Henry be Napoleon.”

Tom left the role, to focus on Rogue Nation. Almost four years later, they are set to work together in its follow-up. We don't know much about Henry's character, other than he potentially plays "the right hand to the head of Cruise’s unit" according to Variety. But is he a villain or a good guy? You know how these films are twisty like that. And if he is the villain.. he's toast.

At least we're comforted by the fact that Mission Impossible bad guys are killed off in really  spectacular ways (which YouTube so kindly provided).

Finally, this is something we thought about immediately after the big casting news broke, and some of you have mentioned to us as well. Did Henry hint at his appearance in this franchise, when he used this song from Tom's iconic 'Risky Business' scene in his recent rehab video? -- Let us know what you think!

A post shared by Henry Cavill (@henrycavill) on

In the meantime we'll be here cheering for his new role, along with the director from his current project, Nomis (which we're also very excited about).

Filming on Mission:Impossible 6 is expected to begin this spring, with a release date of July 27, 2018.

Breaking: Henry Joins Cast Of 'Mission: Impossible 6'

A post shared by Christopher McQuarrie (@christophermcquarrie) on

Henry has joined the cast of Mission: Impossible 6!

The huge announcement caught everyone by surprise, because of the unusual way it was released. Director Christopher McQuarrie asked Henry if he wanted to be part of the film in his new post on Instagram. That was followed by a series of funny back and forth comments between the two:

christophermcquarrie Say, @henrycavill. Had a thought. Curious if you're interested in a role in the 6th installment of Mission: Impossible. No pressure.

henrycavill How can I say no to a man with such perfect hair.....

christophermcquarrie @henrycavill excellent. Just a few caveats: must enjoy extreme heights, high speeds, motor vehicles of all varieties (especially aircraft), practical stunts, firearms, and sporadic exposition. All good?

henrycavill @christophermcquarrie only if I get to fly for real

christophermcquarrie @henrycavill I do believe I specified practical stunts. You in?

henrycavill Oh ok.....I'm in!

christophermcquarrie @henrycavill Outstanding. Welcome aboard. Your social media account will self destruct in 5 seconds.

Here are the initial details via Deadline:

McQuarrie returns as the helm, from a script he wrote, on this latest installment, along with Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, and Jeremy Renner. McQuarrie is producing alongside Cruise, Don Granger, J.J. Abrams and Skydance Production’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg. Paramount will distribute the film in theaters July 27, 2018.

Simon Pegg is reportedly also set to return, and Vanessa Kirby has been cast in an unknown role.

This is what Variety has to say about the character Henry might be playing:

Plot details are still under wraps but sources say Cavill would play some sort of a right hand to the head of Cruise’s unit. Alec Baldwin played the role of Cruise’s boss in “Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation” but it is unknown if he will return as the part has been replaced with a new actor (Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Fishburne, Tom Wilkinson) in previous installments.

The Hollywood Reporter said last month that at least part of the movie could be filming in Paris this spring or early summer, with possible locations in New Zealand and the UK as well.

Congratulations Henry! -- We have no doubt you're going to OWN IT.

UPDATE: Henry's post on the big casting news..  who knew he had some mad Photoshop skills.

Henry's Funny Post, New Pics From The 'Nomis' Set

UPDATE: Henry has shared this funny post from Canada. And he looks so serious below..

Images: Lorne Hanks

Lorne Hanks got a chance to see some of the Nomis filming in Winnipeg today, and it was a Henry scene! *no spoilers* (Thanks so much for sharing your photos).

And Lorne wasn't the only one who noticed the cast and crew in their neighborhood, Jules also ran into Henry and shared her excitement..

Jaime even put together a cool little video of his set visit.

From what we've seen so far from the sets of Nomis, Henry appears to be playing one of the law enforcement officers in the middle of an online predator investigation.

The film is set to wrap in the next few weeks. Look for the latest as we get it.

Henry Shares Training Update, Name Drops 'Green Lantern'

Henry rockin' that Durrell Wildlife beanie, with two months to go until The Durrell Challenge (read his new message for you).

Tonight he shared a new photo and update on his training, while he films Nomis in Winnipeg. Oh, and he also casually name-dropped Green Lantern because.. troller supreme. It seems he mentioned his fellow superhero in reference to Nathan Fillion's comment about them working out together.

Nate has played the character in several DC animated films, and even Mpho Koaho threw in his two cents..

Then again this is the second time Henry brings up Green Lantern in the last few weeks, and we can't forget Miami.

One thing is for sure, he has everyone talking!

Guess we'll find out soon enough if his hints are leading somewhere or he's just teasing the fandom. Sneaky Supes!

The Durrell Challenge: Read Henry's New Message For You!

This is what we call determination.

A year ago today Henry was in New York promoting Batman v Superman, but he still found time to train for the first annual Durrell Challenge.

Now here we are again, exactly two months away from the 13K run in Jersey that this year will include a superhero stroll. And you can still sign up to join him!

Henry started training for the race in January, and just yesterday updated his Facebook with the doitfordurrell link.

His JustGiving fundraising page is also live, and today there is a new message for you there:

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back and thank you if you're returning from last year and showing your support once again... you legends!

To those of you who are here for the first time, thank you for coming by!!! Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust is made up of truly fantastic people doing wonderful things for animal conservation and saving animals from extinction one step at a time. They are truly appreciative of all of our efforts, big or small, and I am truly appreciative of you all joining me in helping out such a special cause!

Thank you again, to all of you and hopefully see you in Jersey!!

Henry

You guys have already helped Henry reach 17% of his goal, but we want to help him smash it!

Here is the link to his JustGiving page again, where you can support this amazing charity that does so much great work for endangered animals all over the world. You can also leave a message of support for Henry.

More updates to come, as we count down to race day.

Nomis: Overnight Barbecue, Gym Banter, Waiting For Minka

"@alexannadaddario: 4 AM barbecue

Shooting a film many times means working overnight hours, sometimes under very tough conditions as Henry showed us last week. So it's nice to see that the Nomis cast and crew are getting treated to some good food! Alexandra Daddario shared this pic from the set early this morning. An excited crew member also shared his photo with Nathan Fillion.

A post shared by Steven K. Johnson (@anniversaryroad) on

In their spare time, Henry and Nate have been hitting the gym, and this regular (who we mentioned in our last wrap) wasn't impressed.

Nate had this funny response for her.

Of course that's probably going to lead to even more people showing up at the gym. Just a few more weeks before they wrap, Lindsey!

Minka Kelly has not been spotted on set yet, but she's probably on her way after bidding goodbye to Paris on Monday.

A post shared by Minka Kelly (@minkakelly) on

We are excited to find out who she's playing in the film, and hopefully she shares updates on her social media.

Mpho Koaho posted his sharp look for his latest scenes this week.

Stay tuned for updates from Winnipeg as we get them.

Potential 'MoS 2' Director, 'JL' Reportedly Coming To CinemaCon

"Henry Cavill sent me the signed pic instead of my cheap index cards!! What a class act!!"

Steve Dillard's infectious excitement, is a great way to kick off our latest DC wrap (sorry it took a bit, Nomis has kept us busy). First off, Collider is reporting that Matthew Vaughn is Warner Bros' top pick to direct Man of Steel 2.

Before Man of Steel came out, Vaughn (who already worked with Henry in Stardust) described what his version of Supes would be like:

“I think that’s the one thing not to do with Superman, trying to do the serious The Dark Knight version. Superman is about color and fun, or it should be, for me.”

It gives you an idea of where he could go if chosen for the directing job, especially if the studio is making a shift in tone for the DCEU. Read the rest over at Collider.

We're just over eight months away from the release of Justice League, and a new glimpse at the film is likely coming in the next few weeks.

We're not sure if Ben will be the only cast member at CinemaCon, but we'll keep you updated. WB's presentation of its upcoming slate is set for Wednesday, March 29.

Director Zack Snyder is in the middle of editing the film, and he's been sharing some really cool updates on his Vero account. You remember this Aquaman scene.. the photo below is how it actually went down.

And Batsy is getting some new guns for the Batmobile..

While Zack hasn't shared any recent Superman updates from Justice League, producer Charles Roven did remind fans during a new interview that Supes was always intended to be the bedrock of the DCEU. Read more below.

As we await his return, many of you guys have been sharing your autographed photos of Henry. Here's all the info you need to request your own. Have a great week everyone!
