WB Reveals First Image, Synopsis: The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Click at your own risk: HQ heaven ahead

Be still our hearts.

A few months after Empire published the first images from The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (shortly after the film was pushed back to August, 2015), Warner Bros. has given us the (slightly different) HQ version of one of them, and it's a beauty.

Collider shared the pic, along with the synopsis:

Henry Cavill (“Man of Steel”) stars as Napoleon Solo opposite Armie Hammer (“The Social Network”) as Illya Kuryakin in director Guy Ritchie’s action adventure “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” a fresh take on the hugely popular 1960s television series.

Set against the backdrop of the early 1960s, at the height of the Cold War, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” centers on CIA agent Solo and KGB agent Kuryakin. Forced to put aside longstanding hostilities, the two team up on a joint mission to stop a mysterious international criminal organization, which is bent on destabilizing the fragile balance of power through the proliferation of nuclear weapons and technology. The duo’s only lead is the daughter of a vanished German scientist, who is the key to infiltrating the criminal organization, and they must race against time to find him and prevent a worldwide catastrophe.

We had posted a variation of this description but this is the official one, and like Collider mentioned a trailer can't be that far off. Oh yeah, Solo Time!

  1. Not to diminish the Superman role, but I am much more interested in his role as Solo. I'll go and see the new Superman movie because Henry is in it but normally I wouldn't go to see a super hero movie. I think Man from Uncle is going to be soooo cool!

    1. The scratches are from the same mosquito that bit Henry in those other pics (with his trainer crossing the street in Michigan). It bit Alicia too...but she was just more aggressive with the scratching...

    2. You made me spit out my drink @anonymous at 6:48 lol.. -- *Actually* @anonymous at 2:23 it seems they get into some trouble with the villains. Entertainment Weekly visited the set last fall and hinted that Henry will get quite a beating by Luca Calvani (you can see his bruise in the pic). So maybe she was injured as well? http://www.henrycavillnews.com/2013/11/let-man-from-uncle-promo-begin.html or it really was the mosquitoes. We hear they are brutal in Italy.

    3. Yep...Brutal in Italy for sure. I think they both took a beating...hopefully they're still alive at the end of the show! Reports never specified if she was a love interest or not (she was just just [very stylishly] positioned by his side at times seemingly trying to make sense of everything going on), but seeing as how it's a comedy (or comedy of errors)...at least everyone will have a good laugh by the end of it!

  3. Thanks Staff Writer for the info. You're right, I just noticed now that Henry has a bruise on his forehead in this picture, too, and so does Armie Hammer under his eye. ~~SPOILER~~I'm assuming this scene will come towards the end the movie when they have beaten the bad guys and is a celebratory-'we won'-having-a-toast-on-the-balcony-kind-off-a-thing. This is pure speculation btw going by the picture above.
