Hot Holiday Greetings, Batman v Superman Set Update, Comic-Con Surprises

Whoa. Here we thought we had seen every gorgeous shot of Henry as Man of Steel, obviously we were wrong. Set photographer Clay Enos, today tweeted this patriotic photo from his archive. Definitely set off the fireworks for us. Hot, hot, oh SO HOT. Not to be left behind, Gal Gadot shared her own beautiful pic, along with a greeting to her American fans. Thanks Wonder Woman, look forward to seeing you dressed in red, white and blue.

A day later we're still swooning HARD over the first official look at Henry in Batman v Superman. After focusing on the subtle changes made to his suit, we're moving on to the guessing game about where Zack Snyder may be going with Man of Steel next. In his new interview with USA Today, the director mentioned Henry is more comfortable in the role this time around, adding: "We've both created this guy and we can push him around a little bit." Could that mean a more mature and weathered Superman? - like the internet has pointed out, Henry's new look is similar to that of the Superman from Kingdom Come. What do you think?

Now that we've gotten a first look at Batman and Superman, we're guessing filming outside of the Michigan Motion Picture Studios can't be that far away. Checking in with what's happening in Detroit, here are the latest pics from the set that's under construction in that city's downtown area (watch a local report). We feel the excitement building!

These are the most recent pics from the Kent farm outside of Chicago, courtesy of @CoolinChicago. Filming there is not expected to take place until this fall, but we're keeping an eye on it, just in case.

And because our wrap wouldn't be complete without a Lex sighting... Daniel Perez posted this pic on his Instagram (mrdjtango) Friday, adding: "About to shoot a quick scene with my boy" #Jesse Eisenberg #BatmanvsSuperman. It's a busy time in Detroit.

Finally as we count down to Comic-Con, The Hollywood Reporter is thinking we're definitely in for a SUPER treat:

Expect official announcements from both Marvel Studios and Warner Bros’ DC Entertainment division, along with new footage and “surprise” cast appearances.

We're trying not to get too excited about the possibility of seeing new Batman v Superman footage, because this is us if it happens..

We'll be more than happy with any superhero-related news Warner Bros. delivers in Hall H. San Diego, here we come!

  1. No,I definitely don't think we're going to see "a more mature and weathered Superman". Looking at the pic of Clark(minus glasses), there's nothing matured or weathered about him. In the Supes pic, Supes hair is plastered down by the driving rain, and the Gotham city lights& moonlight are reflecting in his hair ,so this makes him look a bit older.
Zack has said several times that we are going to see a grizzled and battle-weary Batman,so I think the contrast will be with a young,learning-the-ropes Supes.

    1. I agree.Costume designer Michael Wilkinson has confirmed that the recent picture of Henry as Clark "minus the glasses" is accurate. And it's a very young-looking (and hot as hell ) Clark Kent. Also, you're right about the pic of the rain-soaked Supes on the Gotham city rooftop. The slicking down of his hair by the drving rain makes it look shorter, and his wet hair reflecting the moonlight/city lights gives the impression of grey highlights .But the clincher for me-SPOILER ALERT--
(Please don't read if you don't want to know plot rumors)
Usually reliable websites such as Latino review and others, are saying with confidence that the action in BvS takes place 2 years after MoS-- so that's not nearly enough time for Supes to have matured and weathered into anything like"Kingdom Comes"Supes.

    2. I agree with the previous 2 commentators. I recall that one of the reasons Zack Snyder gave for choosing Ben Affleck as Batman, was that he thought Ben had the acting chops to portray Batman as a world-weary, veteran crime fighter, and that this would work well , especially when up against Henry Cavill's Superman.
I think this means that Henry's Supes is going to be the opposite to Bats--i.e. Supes is going to be portrayed as a relatively young and inexperienced justicefighter, still very much learning the ropes.
And why would Zack start " maturing and weathering" Supes, when we've only just got to learn afresh his origins. It wouldn't make any sense. Hopefully, we'll have many years of Henry playing Supes in his glorious prime, before we start thinking about Kingdom Come Supes.

  3. I hope we never have to worry about "Kingdom Come" Supes because that would mean no Lois and DO NOT WANT

  4. Anyone concerned about his hairline? I feel so bad for Henry. Wouldn't want him to lose his hair at such a young age while playing Supes.
