Henry Ready To Represent Durrell At The Siam Cup!

On May 2, Henry will be taking part in his first official big fundraising event as ambassador to the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust. And just like we did when he supported The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund in Gibraltar, we will be in Jersey on Saturday to bring you complete coverage from the Siam Cup. Have questions for Henry regarding his work with Durrell, Jersey rugby or the match that day? -- We'll also be interviewing him! -- So ask away in the comments section below. Henry will be raising funds for the charity that does amazing work in the fight to save endangered species around the world. This is what he had to say when the event was announced:

“Being a Rugby fan and someone who is keen on protecting the wildlife of this world (rugby players included) what better place to be than at the Siam Cup with Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust? It sounds like it’s going to be a fantastic event! So I hope to see you all there. You'll find me about the grounds and clubhouse throughout the day, hopefully with a pint in hand!”

If you live on Henry's home island of Jersey, we look forward to meeting you there!

Let's sell out this historic rugby match, where there will plenty of chances for you to support Durrell through charity auctions, a bucket collection and more. Of course you'll also have an opportunity to cheer for Henry, as he proudly represents his home charity as the VIP guest at the fundraising event.

The Siam Cup's history dates back to 1920 and the trophy is competed for annually as the finale to the rugby season in the Channel Islands.

Tickets for the Ipes Siam Cup, priced £10 for adults are now available from Jersey RFC or via the JT Rewards website. Admission for JRFC members is £5, while under 18s will be admitted free.

For those of you at home, make sure to visit cavillconservation.com to keep up with Henry's updates and learn how you can support Durrell's work, while getting some really cool swag in return.

Get ready for complete coverage from the Siam Cup. One week to go!

UPDATE: As always, your response is overwhelmingly positive. We will do our best to bring you as much coverage as we can from Jersey. Thank you so much for helping us support Henry.

  2. I'm wondering if you can ask him what his best memory he has as a child going to the Durrell zoo and what was his favorite animal

  3. He supports Durrell Wildlife and owns a cute dog. Does he still enjoy to eat meat or does he eat much less meat (etc)?

    2. You guys want to get us in trouble for asking fun questions not related to the charity.. but it is a rugby match! -- We may just go for it if we have time. Appreciate your feedback, great question.

  6. So proud of Henry's work with Durrell. Thank you for inspiring me as well as my students to spread the message about the importance of conservation.

So my question for Henry is...What are your words of advice to inspire/encourage young students to spread the message of how important it is to help Durrell save endangered animals?

  7. Awesome so excited. Ok my question for Henry is: Where do you see Durell in the future as far as technology and care for the endangered animals?

my question for Henry is: Is Durell solely based in Jersey? Or is there another Durell wildlife somewhere else -meaning is there more than one?

    3. Note: I love animals even if I eat steak and have a cute dog. Just throwing that out there.
Ok I have another question, For Henry: Do you see yourself as a long term ambassador for Durell? Or is there a timeline for that position? Meaning do they switch up every so often?

  9. I really admire the work Henry is doing with Durrell and all the animals there. His adopt-a-gorilla/be a part of the gorilla family thing is wonderful. (I'd like to adopt his McCaw too, but I didn't see that particular page on the CC website yet, but that's o.k...anyway...:D). Combining Rugby and Wildlife Conservation is a fun way to support both teams--of people and animals. Nice work, Henry! <3 <3 <3

My question for Henry (if there's time during the interview): "Do your rugby skills that you acquired earlier on before starting your acting career...help later on in life with kicking the $hit out of Batman during the "Superman V. Batman" filming? :D (we all love Ben, but just talking about the characters now)...

And/or maybe these questions: "Is Superman really a Team Player for the good of mankind? Or is he just doing it for Lois...cause he wants to spent time with her/doesn't want to be alone all the time...and knows she'll ride his ass later with too many questions (cause she's a reporter) if he doesn't do something about the concerns/problems of the world going on out there?" (I think Kal-El would help mankind anyway, but just curious about what he thinks Lois' influence/opinion matters on Superman's situation)...Anyway...

Thanks for sharing, Henry, Durrell, Jersey RFC & HCN (y) :) <3

    1. Thank you for your questions, Henry can't talk about Batman v Superman. But we'd love your questions about his work with Durrell!

    2. Oh yeah...I forgot about that...o.k...Here's another question(s) you maybe could ask Henry: "How much do you love the Animals & People at Durrell Wildlife Conservation? What's the first thing that comes to mind when someone mentions them/Durrell?" :D

  10. I'm glad that his project and fundraising is going so beautifully! Hmmmm, a question to ask....

"Would you consider yourself someone who focuses primarily on saving wildlife for this one particular resort and charity, or, would (or have you) considered participating with large organizations that also focus on wildlife and environmental preservation?"

    Thanks very much,

  11. I don't know if this question is allowed, but I would love for Henry to stand up against animal abuse!

My question is - What would Superman say to those who mistreat animals?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yeah, I agree. Ask him about his rugby. That would be a personal question relative to the day, afterall he is also there to support his rugby club. Seeing as the Rugby World Cup is being hosted by England in October, I am sure he would be happy to share what position he plays with his fans.

  14. Hi, my question for Mr. Cavill is : Does he keep a check on his gorilla family, which he adopted last year around August ? Because when you adopt someone its like you welcoming them in your family. ** i'm just curious to know about this ** :)

    Thank you.

  15. I´ve always have a personal weakness for bees. And I am convinced that if bees become "rare species" the world will be completely different, not in the good way, surely. There is a current Colony Collapse Disorder and many studies about that. The question is "Would Henry and Durrell Wild Conservation Trust see this cause as one to help with, in any way?" Effort is appreciated :)

  16. Love your work Henry from movies to all your charity works. Especially Durrell and Royal Marines. My question for you is.
You are so busy going everywhere but you are so humble and down to earth with everyone you meet from other stars to your fans. What or who keeps you grounded to make you the perfect guy you are?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm so excited for you. You are so lucky. Realy good questions posted. Repeat him how his fans love him and are proud of his many supports of charities. Ask him how is Kal-el and if he likes make films with animals. Oh and ask him if he can say a few words in french ;-). It would be so delicious

  26. Henry's signet ring on his little finger. He always wears it. I would like you to ask him what with all his training and bulking up for Superman, whether the signet ring still fits or whether he he has had to have it adjusted.

  27. I want a Cavill signet ring too....Can we order one on his CC website?

    1. You guys.. lol. They'd sell those like #hotcakes!

    2. I think it's a family signet ring. So I think no order possible. What I would like to know about his signet ring is : is he taking it with him wherever he goes, in his many travels. But don't ask him the question. It's his private life

  28. A rugby question for Henry. Right now, at this moment in time, if he was able to straight swop or trade his international movie star career for that of a British Lions international rugby player, would he do it?

    2. Ok, thanks. My question was: "If you knew tomorrow will be the end of the world (because a plague or something..) and you could save one animal (a la Noah´s Ark, but only one, and no couples), and every family might save only one too, which one would you let saved?"
I hope this is correct, and can be a bit of sane fun. Not serious question, of course. I don´t believe it is a smart one, but maybe thoughtful, and you don´t have to ask it. I realise we are a lot of people asking. Thanks for your attention, anyway. Very much appreciated.
